Few mins from bundoran or Sligo which is fantastic you can escape the busyness of the town’s for a nice quiet location for sone the the most amazing views.
The hotel itself is very dated and could do with a huge revamp the bar the reception area and the rooms are extremely basic , clean enough, the noise from having the electric on is crazy and when u get in the shower is so loud you couldn’t shower if your kids were light sleepers. The TV is small thank God we didn’t need it. There was a draft from the bedroom windows. The restaurant was by far the best with amazing views the breakfast was lovely, they ran out of bread a few times. The fellas on the bar were really nice. The pool was small definitely need to update the changing rooms. Overall money needs spent on this hotel and it would be amazing it’s a shame in its location it’s the best they can do. Excellent Spa, beauty treatments and beautician Sinead Would recommend staying hereBy Ethna Gillespie (a month ago)I stayed here on a Sunday night with my cousin, She could only book 1 80 euro room and the other was 140 euros, the only difference in our rooms was I got a sea view but how long can you stare at that for and yet the hotel was not full so don’t understand why I could not have an 80 euro room. The bed was very small for a double, the towels were not bath sheets and you would think for that price you would get a decent towel there was a small square of the bathroom floor by the toilet that was heated. My window was on a re stricter so could only open a small bit, I like a cold room but the only problem was the door was too small for the aperture and was banging the whole night about 5am I got up and closed the window as I had not slept well but that did not stop it as there was a window in the hall that was open and so it still banged. My cousin had a worst night, her window was not restricted and the wind took it and blew it open and she could not close it, sadly the night porter did not answer must have been a way from the desk and so she spent the whole night thinking she was in a scene from Wuthering Heights and frozen I went into her room in the morning and it was blowing a gale. A lady from reception came up in the morning but she could not close it either and had to send for someone else, we were not offered anything in way of compensation or an apology. Breakfast was OK not a great offering only tinned fruit and a few small pastries and yogurts, I don’t think they use a high quality meat poor quality baked beans, the soda bread was nice though. I don’t think this was value for money in the room or breakfast but the views were stunning. I would stay here again if they had realistic pricing.By Jackie N (7 months ago)

We wished we could have stayed longer than 1 night. The room was perfect for us, overlooking the ocean. It was fun to watch the surfers & the kite surfers. We also had dinner at the restaurant, with the same ocean front view watching the sun set. The food was very good. I had lamb rump, so tender and tasty, and my husband had the sirloin, which he enjoyed. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend.By Colleen Mc Crink (2 months ago)My family & I have been holidaying in Rossnowlagh from Scotland numerous times every year for over 40years, sometimes during the summer months, but most often in October and February. Prior to Covid we would visit the Sandhouse Hotel most evenings to eat & drink, relax and enjoy the hotel & surroundings. Covid has now passed but the hotel now has a policy of welcoming residents only and the hotel is locked and unavailable to non residents. The new buzzer entry system is offputting and impersonal and it is now not possible to talk to a member of staff face to face. Given that the hotel was the only local facility available outside the summer season it leaves visitors no options to eat/drink for most of the week during low season.
We are astounded that a business such as the Sandhouse Hotel can function satisfactorily whilst actively discouraging potential customers from spending their money and making appropriate use of the services available. This is one group of disappointed ex customers. We will be watching with interest for any changes in the future.Can I ask why I didn’t get a reply to this review?

I didn’t stay at the hotel but I ate the restaurant. We were in a hurry and the staff brought out the food very fast for us. The food was nice although I would’ve preferred a wider selection and the chip portions were a little small. Other than that the service was great. The staff were friendly and the hotel was very nice and I’d say it would be good to stay in. It’s in a good spot in the town and easy to get too. However the parking is limited and we struggled to find any. We had a large group with us and they accommodated very well to us. This is a nice place to go for a dinner in Iniscrone.
We had our wedding in the Ocean Sands hotel in July 2022 and highly recommend them. Ocean Sands Hotel Enniscrone, Sligo were amazing from start to finish! Olivia and Amy are a fantastic team. They were so honest, helpful and always helped me calm down and get excited for the big day. The staff on the whole wedding weekend were amazing, too. They were kind, professional and polite, and really and truly went above and beyond! Thank you. We loved the Ocean Sands for the location (we got the best beach photos!), the food (the roast beef in particular was fantastic) and the reasonable price (we got a package). Thank you especially to Olivia and Amy. I highly recommend booking your wedding in the Ocean Sands Hotel, Enniscrone.
We loved our stay! Very friendly and welcoming staff, delicious food, spa was great. The only thing, I would recommend a little rooms upgrade as they are outdated.

An amazing venue, attention to detail is second to none. The staff went above and beyond for us for our wedding in October. Amy and Olivia are fantastic at their jobs and also a special mention for Arthur, Darragh and all the staff, the service was flawless, food was top class and we just had the best day. It’s amazing what they do in the background, little details are the most memorable such as Amy taking my veil off me at dinner and putting it in my room safely, I could go on all day but I genuinely don’t have a bad word to say about The Ocean Sands, we loved every minute, from planning our wedding to having the best day of our lives, amplified by the professionalism and capability of the staff! 5 stars!
