One of the reasons our trip to Hawaii was so amazing is because of where we stayed! The beach villa was wonderful. The villa is right in front of the pool and lagoon #2. We were there during Halloween and the resort had a little Halloween event our 5 year old was able to participate in. The place was so perfect it made it difficult to leave. We hope to come back to Hawaii and stay here again!By Alyson Scheidler (5 months ago)Wow! What a beautiful resort! The lagoons were great for being able to relax in the water and for kids to swim!
Love the sidewalk that connects to each lagoon as well! The food, drinks, service and staff were all incredible!By Pammer R (a week ago)A Great Friends Trip location. Beautiful Lagoon that is quite and spacious. Rooms are atate of the art. People are amazingBy Tim Oerman (2 months ago)Beautiful resort, stayed there twice but on our second stay we realized at the end of the trip the room was infested with BED BUGS. We had a great trip that is now overshadowed by worry about possibly bringing them home.By Melanie W. (a month ago)The beaches are beautiful. 2nd time here and stayed in building D. Even though it’s not an updated unit, it was still nice and comfortable with a view of the ocean. The staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful. The grounds, location, boardwalk, and amenities were great. Rentals are available for snorkeling, beach chairs and etc. They can also assist in setting up excursions in regards to fishing or other trips you may want to do… Look forward to coming back!By Russ Schisel (5 months ago)This place had great views and a nice large room. We didn’t take advantage of the BBQ grills but that was a nice way to save some money on eating out.
We stayed a week there and really enjoyed the property and employees we encountered. As we ventured out and had dinner/drinks at other resorts in the area we noticed that most places had a bar near the pool which we would’ve enjoyed at our place….that’s a good way to keep people on site for sure. We also noticed other resorts had live music…another missed opportunity to keep folks on site. I was disappointed that we didn’t have a nice clean room each day when we returned we only got that one day during our stay. Not sure if that was VRBO policy or Pono Kai’s policy. Overall, a nice, clean, safe, enjoyable place to stay near shops and good eats! Check it out!By Tina Thomson (2 months ago)Overall, this isn’t a bad place and wouldn’t mind staying here again. However, there was nothing that overly impressed me into giving it five stars.
Pros:
– Decent kitchen. Counter space is small, workable
– Good location. Kapaa isn’t the nicest town on Kauai, but it is central to everything
– Beach front, and the normal amenities you’d expect from a resortCons:
– The pool isn’t that big or impressive
– The gym is pretty small for a complex of this size, although it was never crowded. It had a treadmill, a bench, a bike, a stair master, weights, and a general machine.
– We did have a couple of visiting roaches. This is pretty common in Hawaii, so not a big deal, but something noticed
– Check in is at 5, which is pretty late, and check out is 10, which is pretty earlyBy James Coleman (6 months ago)Love it here! Great ocean view and swimming. We could have stayed at the resort for the whole week. We did some exploring, but it was great coming back home. Thank you for yet another great experience!By Richard Hague (5 months ago)Had a great stay here last week! It was a fantastic value compared to the high rates on the large resorts. We were in a recently renovated room that had AC, full kitchen, wifi, and nice beds. The only dated part was the bathroom, but that was minor so I didn’t take off a star for it. The facilities generally at the resort were very nice, but small, most notably the pool, so I did take a star off under “service” for that. However the location in Kapaa was great, within walking distance to the town various shops, and restaurants, and of course it was right on the beach with ample space to lay out, swim around, or go walking on the trail. All the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and they did a great job keeping the entire place clean. I’d definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.By Ethan Holder (a month ago)

Absolutely stunning resort with a beautiful lobby designed as contemporary with all the amenities you need. On a peninsula so water on both sides on the top of the resort. One side great for surfing the other a protected bay great for lounging and snorkelling. This is the spot to be on Oahu… more quaint and peaceful than Waikiki beach area, almost a Maui vibe! Highly recommend.
We had a great stay here! Location is fabulous and we had a couple of issues but the service here went above and beyond and made it right. Definitely would stay here again. Our son loved the slides down to the pool and the lagoon.
We love the views and how easy it was to walk to everything. The breakfast buffet was also a hit. Most things were spendy but that is what to expect at a resort in Hawaii.
Our stay at Turtle Bay was awesome! The resort is huge, offering many options for shopping, drinking, and dining. The resort itself is so modern, clean, and beautiful. Our room was spectacular — it was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The view was breathtaking! The staff was fabulous, everyone we encountered was very helpful and personable. We were treated wonderfully as honeymooners, and were even surprised with a bottle of champagne on the first night of our stay! I would definitely recommend staying here.
We stayed in a condo at the resort. Turtle Bay is stunningly beautiful, so well maintained. Service impeccable. Beaches perfection. Family loved it. One afternoon, my son and I spent the afternoon wondering around the property and had a great time shopping, taking photos, watching the waves and talking about so many important things while enjoying the view and facility. This is a great place to be. Will be back for sure!
This was our 1st time staying on the North Shore. This resort is fantastic. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We stayed in The Villas and we had plenty of room as well as all of the comforts of home. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, dishes, appliances, etc. All around a great stay and we will definitely return for another awesome vacation. 🏝
