  1. Shared the garden room with a couple friends for a few night’s vacation, and had an absolutely wonderful stay, even though we got a good amount of rain during our trip. Location is picturesque, monkeys and iguanas roam all over the property, and there is easy beach and town access. Adult pool onsite is beautiful and relaxing. Daily breakfast was delicious, could not get enough of it! Great proximity to the National Park (buy your access tickets online ahead of time). Hotel staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, really make you feel safe, cared for, and at ease during the stay. Garden room was a worthwhile upgrade from the economy option; definitely would upgrade to the next option if coming for a couples vacation or with the full family

  2. We had a great time here. Rooms were nice with balconies facing the ocean in different directions. Pools were beautiful with some being adult only. They have a great Happy Hour with an accompanying tapas menu that we took advantage of most nights. Nice breakfast buffet with an omelet station. There’s access to a nearby beach that has all the amenities. Most importantly, the staff were wonderful and accommodating in every way.

  3. My husband and I had a wonderful time at this resort. The grounds were beautiful, and the staff was pleasant. We stayed in one of the suites and our room and view were lovely. The food was excellent and there were several restaurants to choose from. We saw sloths, three species of monkeys, and macaws. I highly recommend this resort for couples and/or families.

It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommended this resort.
Customer Service was amazing, the rooms adorable, the location is good.

  4. We had a great time at the Parador resort. The staff is very professional and friendly, and always happy to assist. The rooms are comfortable, albeit with a slightly outdated decoration, and the resort features several pools and gardens, as well as a mini-golf and tennis court to enjoy.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are very nice, and not overpriced compared to places in the city.
There’s also a nice gym and a spa, and even a private trail to see monkeys in the forest.
Keep in mind that although the hotel has a views on the ocean, the beach itself is not directly accessible from your room, and requires a very short hike.

  5. This hotel is an absolute blast. Don’t know where to start:
    – The service is incredible, everyone is so kind and professional
    – The infrastructure is very high level, the pools are beautiful
    – The rooms are spacious and comfy
    – The breakfast is great, and what a view.
    – There is a little trail on the hotel area that allows you to see monkeys and other animals.

Bonus for families travelling with kids: there is a kids’ room which our daughter loved going to. The pool is in the shade in the afternoon and has a very safe shallow zone that is perfect even for little kids.

Congratulations to the whole team and thank you for making out stay so great

my boyfriend and I stayed here for a week, it was absolutely amazing. everyone there was super friendly and accommodating ! we loved all the people that worked at the hotel, they took good care of us. it came with a great breakfast every morning, and even walking distance to its own relaxing private part of the beach ! Also only a $10 taxi ride into the small and nice town of Quepos for restaurants and bars, which they called for us every time we needed it. We got to know our way around and will definitely stay here again! Dani, Vera, Roger, and Elia are some of the people we met and made the experience wonderful. highly recommend. thanks again Shana -love Katie and josh 🙂

This was a nice property in terms of view and a 5 minute walk down to an amazing bay that was rarely ever “busy”. Monkeys galore and beautiful grounds. It is a bit of a trek to get there – roads are narrow if you are driving and guardrails in CR are minimal to none – so you must be on your game to drive down the very windy and steep road that gets you to Shana.

It is a short drive into town as well as to Manuel Antonio. Our room was amazing (honeymoon suite), albeit a bit dated and some issues with dust – but we were there to relax so…Pura Vida right? (you will have to go to know what that means).

Overall I would recommend the property if you love views, access to an amazing little protected beach, seeing white face monkeys on your balcony, and hearing howler monkeys call to each other each morning 🙂

Shana exceeded our expectations and beyond! The hotel is beautiful, food great and the private beach was delightful. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We encountered lots of wildlife on the property and loved the monkeys. We had the family suite with a gorgeous room and balcony with ocean view. Excellent value with breakfast also included. Highly recommend! Thank you Shana!

We chose this hotel for the beach access and it did not disappoint. It was a lovely trail with monkeys and various other animals, a lot of steps but pretty easy. We stayed in the honeymoon suite with an ocean view and had monkeys visit our balcony daily. It was a highlight for us. We also saw a Toucan, squirrel monkeys, macaws and a sloth. The music at the pool was a bit loud for our taste, but we didn’t spend much time at the pool. Breakfast was good, but I would recommend eating elsewhere for other meals as the food was a bit overpriced and not great for what we paid. Overall I would recommend staying here, the staff was friendly and accommodating.

The property is beautiful and the staff is better! Kevin checked us in and he was super helpful and it only took 5 min. He gave us the run down and you should listen to him. The staff drove us down to see where we should park the car and helped me a unload- he also showed us where everything was so we didn’t get lost. THE BEST was Andrea Caicedo. She is nothing short of amazing!!! If you are lucky enough to get her to take care of you, she will make your day so much better. She’s funny but she’s fast and just all around good at her job. I would come back here for her alone. Thanks for an amazing trip Shana hotel staff!!!

Located pretty much at the end of the road, it is a short walk to the national park.

Most of the rooms look at trees, but the top floor can see the beach. The walk to the beach is only about 5 minutes.

The rooms are a good size & well lit, but are starting to show some age. Housekeeping is very fast with any requests.

    The breakfast buffet was good.

Be warned – if you are staying on New Year’s Eve, there is a mandatory dinner that is a separate USD $55pp charge.

This hotel is very run down. everywhere things are broken and not working. It is very expensive for what you get. Traffic in and out of the hotel is awful due to the park. ( not hotels fault) we had a garden view room that had a terrible view of garbage and a few run down buildings. No tables or chairs on the balconies either, the hotel probably figure you wouldn’t to sit out there anyhow. Staff is friendly. There are better places to stay. If you want the kind of rooms they have to offer save your money and get a cheaper hotel. We stayed in 3 other hotels on our trip and this was by far the worst of all. I would not stay here again.

Great resort hotel. The location is fantastic with easy beach access and immediately beside the entry to Manuel Antonio park. The rooms were spacious and nice. They have two in pools and multiple restaurants. Great place to stay when visiting Manuel Antonio!

Our stay was very good. We stayed here for 1 night based on 2 different recommendations from 2 different guides. It is literally a few feet and adjacent to the park entrance. The hotel was not very full so that may have made a difference but our room was better than expected and the hotel was more than adequate. Everything worked as you would expect and the service and breakfast were great. I can see that if the hotel were full it would probably be very crowded in the common areas. Also we used a guide for the park through the hotel at a cost of $51 USD plus 13% tax that did include the price of admission to the park and it was well worth it. The park was fairly busy but to have a guide’s knowledge and ability to spot the animals as well as the spotting scope that they use to get great photos with your own phone was well worth the cost. Pura Vida!

Right next to manual antonio park. Nice big pool. Great AC. decent food at restaurant.
Bar on top floor, with a small pool.
Fridge and coffee maker in room.
Opposite from pool are room balconies, those views are ugly, but no big deal
