Arriving at Breakas Beach Resort we were greeted by reception and given a drink and a lovely necklace.
Security assisted us with our bag and in locating our room. The room had passive airflow vents, a fridge, sunbed and large bed with bug netting. The bathroom had a nice indoor/outdoor feel as the shower had an open sky view.
Awesome infinity pool area to look over during breakfast and dinner.
My main complaints about Breakas was the food pricing of around $40NZD for a higher end meal of red snapper and the service in general was slow and chaotic. Once waiting 70minutes for room service after only ordering a starter and two sides.
The one hour for happy hour is not well managed and drink orders just don’t come out unless you visit the bar several times to get back on the list to be made. Likely faster to just stand at the bar and watch them make it.By Konar R (4 months ago)Our time at Breakas Resort was amazing. We were there for a week and had such a lovely time. They helped us organise a snorkelling tour at Lelepa Island and a private tour around the island. Any time we had questions or needed recommendations they were able to assist. Everyone was super friendly and the restaurant was the best we ate at in Port Villa. 10/10 would recommend.By Michelle Muchirahondo (6 months ago)Advertise beach front fares are not available they are privately owned and can’t come to agreement with Breakas as we found out when checking in .They don’t advise you this before you check in , they have not been available since October. You then have to come to an agreement with management as to compensation and it depends how assertive you are as to the deal they give you. As we found out they don’t honour that agreement at check out which requires a lot of remonstrating. The place is very badly run and customer service is very poor. I got caught in the rip out the front as did 2 others on the same day and it was only luck that tourists came to our rescue. Could have had tragic results. They also tried to charge guests $190 dollars a head for New Year’s Eve smorgasbord. Consequently there were a lot of us that didn’t eat dinner . To view the fire works and to listen to music they wanted$70 even though we were guests. Avoid this place at all costs.By Helen Markin (4 months ago)A clue to the star rating is in the name of the resort ” Breakas ” as in broken .. The resort must of been a pumping place in its heyday in the 80’s .. now tired and I suspect another Covid casualty . General maintenance and up keep was average regarding the out door, pool side & bar furniture were in need of a refresh or replacing , some seat cushions missing others had a unique perfume ,table legs bent and wicker seating unravelling e.t.c.There were multiple menus to choose from for Lunch and Dinner , however the quality did not match the price. Breakfast included , however worth a miss. If your’e 20 something with a group of friends , its a great place to stay and I would recommend it , but if your’e more mature and care for comfort tap out and seek an alternative option.By fidanzato07 (4 months ago)We didn’t stay at Breakas but next door at Waves at Surfside. Regardless we were welcomed by extremely friendly staff into the restaurant, bar and pool areas (we returned every day to each of them)! This place is stunning, the views are second to none, and the staff are amazing (especially Travix(?))!By Daniel Davidson (Dan) (3 weeks ago)

Such a lovely place to stay! Perfect for us and our twin toddlers for our honeymoon. We stayed in the over water bungalows and it was actual heaven! The food is a bit average but all in all it was fantastic!!!! The pool is fabulous for kids and the beach bungalows are perfect!By Amanda (6 months ago)We had just the best stay with our adult children. The facilities and location are just fantastic, and don’t get me started on the meals and cocktails! But above all else this place is amazing because of the heart and soul of the management and staff, including front, back and everything in between. Nothing was a problem including turning up unannounced when our flight was cancelled and each enquiry was met with a warm easy smile.
I feel like I have had a holiday with a brand new family who have wrapped me with their warmth and generosity of spirit. High fives everyone, thank you…we will be back!❤By Claire Cummack (3 months ago)Absolutely stunning service and excellent opportunities to relax home away from home. If yo want peace of mind, good food, great outdoors, and happy people who care genuinely….then look no far.
Also the Island opened up a few months ago, and great to see how busy it is already.By Rocky S (5 months ago)Sitting in a beach bungalow overlooking the water and the room view is stunning. But it is roughly 800m to reception and a driver is needed to collect you and drop you each time you want to go to the main area. Problem is the phone doesn’t get answered 90% of the time and when it does you can wait up to 30minutes for a car. I am writing this while I wait to try to phone again. I have tried more than 20 times without success. I would walk but it’s raining and the room does not contain an umbrella, nor does it contain a minibar offering, wine glasses or a bottle opener. You are really isolated. Tried room service and it was cold when it got to us. We should have stayed elsewhere on day one. Our little one is unwell today so we are having a day streaming movies, problem is the codes they give you for the internet keep failing and we have to keep calling for new codes, We have had roughly 10 so far. and once again. useless if the phone doesn’t get answered. The frustration far offsets the amazing view.By S Scott Walker (3 months ago)Stayed there for 5 days. Overpriced and not value for money. Hotel is old and the food is expensive and not even tasty. The staff are pleasant but not very clued as to what’s going on and somewhat forgetful. Need to remind them constantly for stuff not yet done. The air-conditioning was not working well. Definitely needs renovation and revamp.By Alka Bahal (4 months ago)

Like everywhere else the resort is rebuilding after being closed for 2 years and I hope they get back to what it used to be like.
Everything is a bit variable but staff will go out of their way to fix things if you ask politely.
The Fare’s are a basic but large and comfortable.
Food is OK not excellent and needs a bit of work – especially breakfast (when compared to other resorts/hotels at a similar price point).
Unfortunately the rubbish at the top of the island needs to be cleaned up- it’s an environmental hazard and that didn’t need re-opening to happen.
Bugs on the bathroom bench and also in the bed!! Too disgusting! The male manager is trying to muddle it through. Our flight has been cancelled by Air Vanuatu and missed one night staywe noticed the hotel in 24 hours before and they refused to refund any of the fees!! The manager promised to give us a letter about the issue for our insurance company but nothing provided! They are just full of lies! Never come back and not recommend!!
False advertising, you will be disappoint to book for this hotel. Food is average but expensive, only one pool is working but the advertising says two. Cleanness is big issue as they don’t check your room before you move in! The ants are everywhere even on the bed! Not recommended at all.
The island sounds great but be aware there’s no sandy beaches to swim at. It’s a steep island. They stuffed up our room booking which affected my birthday plans, and they also forgot to set up the planned birthday dinner my partner paid for so the surprise was ruined. Some of the staff were pretty disinterested. 1 restaurant to eat at only. Nothing else to really do there. The pool was okay, but the vibe wasn’t super relaxing resort. We made the most of it but Warwick is definitely worth a bit more money and has amazing rooms and facilities in comparison.
Nothing good I experience on my first visit to the so called Iririki Island Resort. Please followers out there don’t believe what they advertise on Social Media. I went there with my course mate seeking permission to take videos of their current amenities as part of our Tourism Assignment but they didn’t allow us. I am from Papua New Guinea and my friend is from Solomon Islands and we’re studying at Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC).
Besides, the receptionist was so rude to us.
We also witnessed a tourist was waiting for over 6minutes just to be served by the receptionist, the receptionist was carried away talking on the Mobile Phone. This is just too bad.
