A gorgeous property right on the beach with a lot of fantastic options around and within the hotel.
Pricing was a little over the top and almost every regard but that’s to be expected not only due to the hotel but due to the location itself. Even the 7-Eleven nearby charges double the normal price for goods.
The beach was comfortable and they had good amenities out there, the pools were great and there were options. There was a kid’s splash zone that while small was great for the little ones to run around and enjoy and they had someone stationed at the slide for safety which was a plus.
There were some really great restaurant options inside the hotel itself, and the business events that I attended and were catered by the hotel were absolutely delicious and well orchestrated.Service interactions were top notch as I would expect and hope, the only area that fell short was around housekeeping both in terms of initial cleanliness as well as attitude when requests were made for items to be brought to the room.
While I stayed in the hotel with my family, my team went out and explored areas nearby such as the boardwalk and many restaurants to choose from and had an amazing time and experience both inside and out.
I know I gave a four-star rating, because I traditionally am stingy with my five stars, but this is Definitely a hotel I would recommend overall.
Bonus, the spa was fantastic and the staff were as well!
By Ramsey Oklah (a month ago)We held a business meeting at the hotel. Thoroughly impressed from start to finish. Coordinating the event beforehand was smooth and communication consistent. On site the staff is AMAZING 👏. You can’t beat the location or the view. Rooms are clean and hands down the BEST shower water pressure of any hotel. The hotel offers nice amenities and dining options for all wallets. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at the Diplomat.By Trish D (5 months ago)I chose this hotel because it seemed to be more of a family resort than other options in the area, especially at spring break time. I was looking to relax by the ocean and enjoy some time with my 10 year old daughter and our stay was delightful up until our last day/night. Due to a conference and private event they had going on that day the pool area was closed at 2pm. The event, which was directly outside my balcony room, blared EXTREMELY loud music until 11pm. I called at 9pm and asked when the music would stop and was told 10pm. When it was still going at 10 and I went down stairs and spoke to a manger I was told at 10:30 the event would be over and the music would be off. At 11 pm the music was still BLARING and I again went down stairs and spoke to the manager who finally went outside and asked them to turn it off. I wish I was able to upload videos to show just how loud the music was, even with the balcony doors closed! If this was a guest playing music this loudly in their room at 11pm I have zero doubt the hotel would find it unacceptable, however because they were benefiting from a “private event” it was not only acceptable to them but I practically had to beg, several times, to have the music stopped so we could sleep. Total disregard and disrespect for other guests. I paid for an ocean front room with a balcony to relax and enjoy the view, this “private event” made my balcony unusable, unless I was looking to party, and truly put a stain on what would have been a wonderful stay. I highly recommend asking if they have any “special events” planned before booking your stay if you’re looking to use the pool areas, balcony or are looking for a little rest and relaxation. This hotel absolutely puts conferences and private events at a higher priority than other paying guest.By Jennifer Leighton (a month ago)We came to the Diplomat for a family reunion. For the price, we expected a first class experience. We were disappointed in so many ways:
-No bell service available when we arrived. I had to carry luggage for 3 people.
-No room service at all.
-No coffee shop or bar food for a light evening meal (we bought sandwiches in the canteen).
– $50 a day valet parking, but no ability to call down to have the car ready. Sometimes we had to stand waiting 15 minutes for our car to arrive.
-the 20% mandatory service charge on the breakfast buffet was exorbitant. On the plus side:
The private dining meals were excellent, and the hotel’s breakfast buffet was delicious! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful.Hopefully the new management can work on the issues that need fixing.
By Clifford Ehrlich (2 months ago)This is such a great resort in an awesome location. The beaches are beautiful and well-kept. The staff really make this place. The front desk, bell hop staff and bartenders were all amazing. They made us feel welcomed and never made any request feel too small. The variety in bars and food was great, and the service is good. Food is a little pricier than I expected but did not surprise me considering the property and area it is in. A good package would make it better, but with the rates of this hotel, I came prepared for it. The boardwalk is only a short drive/ride away which also has food options. I would recommend this hotel to friends and families looking for a great FL getaway. The only negative is parking. The parking garage rates are high, and there aren’t any options for having guests (as someone from South Florida, I have family in the area I would’ve liked to spend time with there).By Jay Vee (6 months ago)

Had an absolutely wonderful stay! Thanks to Geoffrey he was able to plan and decorate for my son’s surprise birthday! Everyone were so nice and professionally and helped out in every and any way.
As far as the hotel, I would definitely recommend and stay again! It’s very clean and welcoming. We had lunch and dinner at both restaurants and both were an amazing experience. The beach was awesome and the view was breathtaking!! Love every moment!!
By Kay (a week ago)Was an amazing stay and resort. Very nice and clean.. 20 steps from the beach. Only minor complaint was the water in the shower would take a while to drain. But its not really their fault.. With all of the sand thats gets into drain. Otherwise the staff from the front desk, to the beach staff were extremely friendly. Made us feel right at home. The rooftop bar drinks are very strong! Big plus. We didn’t get a chance to dine at the restaurant upstairs, but we walked through it and it looked very nice. Would highly recommend staying here! We will be back!By Phil (6 months ago)We had a decent time, but I will never stay here again…
PROS: 1. Awesome staff (especially Sonia with housekeeping) everyone is very friendly with the exception of the beach attendants and front door attendant (see CONS). 2. Beach access is awesome and easy. 3. Proximity to on the water activities is awesome as well no traveling required. 4. We had some issues with a leaking fridge and it was fixed very quickly.
CONS: 1. The place is so old, it looks like they’ve tried to fix things up and it’s a nice place, but there are only two elevators (maybe a 3rd? never saw it) but one was not working most of the time. There is a restaurant and apparently a pretty popular bar on the top two floors that bring all kinds of people into the tiny lobby and with one working elevator, it’s almost impossible to get your family to your room without waiting no less than 10 minutes.
2. The bar that is beach side has the worst customer service and even worse food. Our drinks were forgotten, the food was wrong and when it did come out correctly it was so overcooked it was almost burnt. The live music is awful (but not a big deal), but is so loud that we could hear every word from our 7th floor room.
3. The beach attendants didn’t seem at all interested in their job, but why would they, they automatically add gratuity to your on beach bill, but even if you give them a tip, it doesn’t keep them coming back, you have to hunt someone down to get a drink or food, or go get it yourself. At one point (later in the day) one attendant was even standing around talking to his friend who was smoking a joint and didn’t even think to tell his friend not to smoke it with families around.
4. There are some sort of front door attendants, I’m not sure what their job actually is, I don’t see valet parking or a sign for it. I was having issues with my large bag and not one of the two men standing there even looked up or offered to help, their job is what?
5. Lastly, the room doors are SO heavy that they slam shut, so be prepared to listen to doors slamming all hours of the night and in the morning… forget about sleeping in.By Leeanna Barnes (6 months ago)Our stay here was absolutely the best! It was a wonderful choice. Staff and amenities were superb. It was nice to have a restaurant selection on site. There was live music every day. And they have beach cabanas with service! We will be staying here again!Be ware though, there parking lot of very, very tight especially if you have a large vehicle. They had a wedding on site during our stay and it was difficult to find a parking spot.
By Chelsea Koenigsknecht (2 months ago)Had an amazing vacation with 8 girlfriends. Accommodations were great which allowed for us to all stay in 3 comfortable rooms close together. Service was on point, views were spectacular with 360 rooftop restaurant/ bar and amenities did not disappoint. Yoga on the beach, cabanas and beach chair reservations, water sport rentals, love music and plenty of great memories. Thank you Bellwether Beach Resort management and staff!By Marcela Lizcano Ehardt (6 months ago)

Thank you for reading! If you have any additional information on the best Beach Resort in Bowmans, Florida, please leave a comment below. We would love to hear from you!
The location and Service were both great. From outward appearances, the hotel looked lovely. The lobby was inviting, cool and gave a good impression. Exiting the elevator to the 10th floor was not nearly as lovely. HOT! We could not get the room to cool below 74/75 & the halls were even hotter. Visited friends staying on the opposite tower & temps were just the same. No ventilation in bathroom = a ‘sticky’ feeling room. While I realize Daytona is a popular destination, the ‘resort’ is showing its age & could definitely use an overhaul.
I stayed for a week for a business trip and was so happy I stayed at the Hilton. They are older rooms, but very clean. The bed was really comfortable. The ocean view rooms are so nice. The window/doors open up to get an unobstructed view of the ocean. The hotel was very clean, the staff friendly & facilities (gym & pool) were clean and well kept. I will definitely be coming back. Self parking is a little walk but nothing crazy. It’s in a great location close to plenty of places to eat, shop & the beach is literally across the side walk.
Nice, clean and expansive hotel. We booked a basic room with 2 queen beds. The room was extremely spacious and could have fit 2 king beds with room to spare in the sleeping area. Rooms are not super-up-to-date-trendy. They also don’t feel dated or old fashioned. Honestly, good aesthetic that fits the hotel. The 1st floor pool area is well kept and relaxing. The restaurants are great and the staff is super warm and friendly. Definitely worth the price and would definitely stay here again!
Amazing staff. Felt very welcomed. Valet / Bellman in both areas superb at their job, thank you for taking care of our vehicle and luggage. Guest services / night audit April was very informative and helpful upon arrival and when we needed assistance with our settings for the A/C. Don Ricos restaurant superb food and beverage staff. Thank you to the whole team.
I enjoyed all the guest areas . I enjoyed the ocean view room for the view and very spacious. Dated lamps are worn and little things around the room. The only thing I didn’t like was the musty smell of water, wet carpet. The bathroom could of been cleaned better. Behind the toilet where there’s caulking is mildew. My room was on the fourth floor ocean view so we had the ultimate view. I really enjoyed it here. I hope the hotel will be updated soon. I work in hospitality and I understand that this industry was very much affected by the pandemic and not mention storms that haven’t helped and it’s slowly getting more people hired and getting the experience staff hired and trying make revenue as well. Keeping guests feeling comfortable and welcomed is always number one. I will be a repeat guest.
The hotel was extremely disappointing. I’ve stayed at other Hilton hotels and they were much nicer. The place was a maze to walk through. The outrageous parking prices made me want to leave. 40$ a day for valet and 30$ a day to park across the street. The AC in the room definitely did not work, we had it at 60 and were sweating. There was a sink outside the bathroom that gurgled when someone took a shower and it was quite annoying. We also paid $25 for an ocean view. The balcony (if you could call it that) was a ledge with a door. You couldn’t even step on it fully. The pools were nice and beach access was easy. There was lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance which was nice. But I’m overall very disappointed. We were supposed to be paying 82$ a night for our room and spent over 500$ on a 3-day stay from all the extra fees they put in. Extremely disappointed.
