My Husband and I came here for a 5 night stay, and after staying at other Sandals properties I have to say I’m sad I can’t call it a 5 star stay. I’m not one to complain, but a few things stood out to me that I just couldn’t overlook. To start with the positive, The Gym on the non royal side was great! Super clean and well equipped with machines. The Sky Bar was beautiful, and Dwayne the bartender at the Infinity pool bar was amazing. The Foam party was an awesome time and the drinks were consistently good. The Cons, mainly the food. My husband and I got food poisoning the second day into our trip. Service was also super slow (but you’re on island time so just roll with it). My issue is that they are SO understaffed, and you can see it on the staffs faces. We were told the resort was 90% booked, but they definitely did NOT have the staffing capability for it. They are literally working them to the bone. Overall, wouldn’t return to this resort, and highly recommend sandals work on their staffing issues before they loose the good few they do have.By Alecia Lynn Logan (7 months ago)Belated post… we stayed in Sandals (older side) in January for 10 days.
We couldn’t fault the resort. Our room, food, entertainment was amazing. We particularly loved the bourbon cocktails in the American bar and the Parisian food night.
We also enjoyed the free snorkelling with turtles – we did it twice.
Our highlight – Calvin, our butler. He was absolutely amazing. His attention to detail was great, so friendly and likeable. We would return back for just him.
Our other butlers J-Shayne and Agata were great too.
Thanks sandals! XBy Scott Wallace (7 months ago)This resort was clean and the staff was very friendly. We stayed for 8 days, 7 nights. I feel like the resort was so large the staff was overwhelmed and the quality of service, food/drinks etc suffered because of it. Id rate the food as a 3/5. Some places were great like the steak house, others were terrible (chi). Making reservations was somewhat easy if they were not booked up already. My biggest issue was the pool and beach chairs. People would have buttlers reserve their seats as early as 6am but not use them. I would be at the pool or beach at 8 am every day, not a single soul to be found for hours, but every single chair was “reserved” so i was unable to sit at the beach the entire trip. It really should be first come first serve. Also be prepared to have sales people coming up to you constantly trying to sell tours or take photos. I probably would not come back or recommend this location to others.By leah (3 months ago)We stayed here for our honeymoon. It was our first time staying at a luxury resort. The food and drinks were average. Our reservations to all the restaurants worked out great, never spent more than an hour to hour and a half at dinner. Multiple courses and everything was good. Just wish the food was better. There was a few staff members who made our experience very memorable. Kagina at the pool bar was outstanding! Mario, the photographer was always the first one at the pool and worked late at night for dinner. Jared at the bar was awesome as well! Staff members were friendly and always willing to serve with a smile.By Kaitlyn Geitz (3 weeks ago)First time in the Caribbean, impressed with the set up and going club class adds that extra bit of luxury. All inclusive and the room bar topped up daily. Adults only and plenty going on though the entertainment was a bit lack lustre. Plenty of pools to relax around and the pool bar excellent.By Brendan Harrison (2 months ago)

Beautifully situated by the sea with easy access to buses into town. The rooms were spacious, each with a balcony giving out onto a canal with small bridges and flanked by trees. However it was the staff who made our stay so memorable; they treated us warmly, each and everyone could not do enough for us.By Alan Ridley (2 weeks ago)Location is great, beach is way too rocky to have a nice swim. The view is amazing though. My issue came with the front desk staff. No smiles, didn’t give us accurate information regarding check out time. ( she said 10 am yet the paper they gave us said 12), this made a difference to us because our flight out wasn’t til 400pm and when we asked for a late check out, we were told no. We wouldn’t have asked or rushed to pack if we knew we could stay till 12 legitimately. Considering the cost per night, they wouldn’t give us our arm bands for food or drinks until strictly 3 pm. All inclusive, resort, just left us feeling like we were staying in a cheap hotel, especially considering the unfriendly staff at the desk.
Saying that, the restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and happy, as were the bell men who helped get our bags to our rooms.By Wendy Martin-Gutjahr (2 months ago)Convenient location. Beach was sandy until you went in the water..rocky. The pools were both nice. Rooms were basic. Clean. Not quiet. Check-in is at 1500, not 1455, 1500. Of course, the drink/food band isn’t given until you are checked in. And the lunch gets put away at the same time. Check out is 1200. Lunch is at 1230. May be a good time if staying for a week. Certainly not worth the all inclusive price for one night.By Steven Clark (2 months ago)We stayed at Savannah Beach from 4th -11 th March 2023. Absolutely loved it. We had a fab room with everything we needed. Staff could not do enough for you. Food was great and plenty of it. After reading reviews that food was not up to standard, I was a bit sceptical, but had no need to worry. The hotel was very clean but is looking a bit tired. We heard it is being renovated 2024. We would certainly recommend. Oh and the entertainment was good.By Elizabeth Bowers (a month ago)this place is horrible. the staff are so unfriendly and horrid. When me and my family arrived at the place after 16 hours of driving we were expecting to be able to relax finally. The place over booked so we weren’t allowed in. We entered our room and there were people in there! This place is outrageous and absolutely unacceptable. this behavior is unacceptable. We weren’t refunded or anything for compensation. They attempted to blame it on the elders of the family for “being too old to see to book it” ! this is outrageous. Never again and don’t recommend. Also there was bugs everywhere!By Mckaylie Huynh (a month ago)

Currently half way through our stay at The Crane and it has been amazing, every day. The property is absolutely gorgeous, the staff and other guests are all so friendly. The concierge staff have been incredible with their help and recommendations. We do not want to leave.
Absolutely gorgeous here!!
Beautiful location. Friendly staff. We had a few issues. We had to move rooms since the 1st one didn’t have a working a/c, a must in Barbados. Our coffee Maker didn’t work and had to be replaced. We went to the pool and they didn’t have any clean towels, and none came while we were there. The a/c in our new room was out for a night and half a day. I was not able to return an unused, unopened item i purchased at the General Store even though there was not posted policy about no returns. The elevator down to the beach was out of order the entire week we were there (3 flights of stairs). There is a good variety of restaurants onsite and we enjoyed our meals. Things are expensive which is common across Barbados. We had a nice time overall but they really need to get things in better repair overall for it to be considered a grand vacation.
I only stayed one night at The Crane, but the room was absolutely beautiful! The bathroom was very large! Soaker tub with jets, spacious shower and closet. It had a mini kitchen (sink, stove, dishes and silverware provided). There was a sitting area with a couch and table to sit at. Nice large bed and doors that opened to a private patio area with two lounge chairs. This room was paradise in itself!!!
I happened to be in Barbados for a month and had the opportunity to stay here on my last week. It was a nice change because I was on the other side of the island before.
This was one of my favourite resorts (and I stay in a lot of hotels + resorts as part of my work), because although it is a resort, it doesn’t have that commercial “resorty” feel to it. It feels secluded, remote and not too busy no matter how full they are.
The service is great and they have some amazing restaurant options — one on a cliff over-looking the ocean. The views are quite breathtaking. The staff are warm, welcoming and such nice, hospitable people.
There are plenty of 5 different pools to choose from including an adult-only one overlooking the cliff. And again, they are not so busy and loud where you can’t enjoy and relax at a slow pace. They have a large beach area where you will always get a nice breeze and amazing waves.
Whether you’ve been to Barbados or not, I highly recommend checking out this resort!
Loved my stay at The Crane! My good friend suggested it as she and her Mom had stayed there before briefly for a quarantine. My friend “upgraded” when i decided to join her and her Mom on the trip. Though we could have stayed at her Uncle’s home, who didn’t live far from the resort. The unit we stayed in was lovely, though some things could have used a bit of updating. Some of the metal on a few of the lamps were corroded from the ocean air, as well as some fixtures where the roof top pool was. I loved the tub in the incredibly large ensuite bathroom. It was huge! I even took a bubble bath in it. Heaven! It was cool having our own private pool, too! So fancy!
Check-in was easy and the staff courteous. Loved the rum punch! We loved the convenience of the private elevator from the garage. The grounds were well kept, and the grounds crew were courteous. The breakfast buffet had good food choices, and everything was delicious. Staff was also courteous. We did utilize the spa for my friend’s birthday. The ladies there took good care of us. I also loved that there was a Colombian Emeralds jewelry store on the premises. My own mother’s favorite jewelry store. I was able to pick up something for her. I would definitely stay at the Crane again and would even probably stay in the same unit. I loved it! Whoever owns the unit makes sure you have what you need to make the stay enjoyable. The Crane is at the top of my “favorite places to stay” list.
