Beautiful, clean, quiet camp. Be able to hike up a dune to the gorgeous beach. No fires at campsite. Bugs are awful. If temp is above 65 and not windy, even deep woods off won’t help…but not on beach, only at camp. Cold showers. Great area for bikes, around camp, or bike trail 3 miles into village along highway. Very dog friendly. Other campers have always been considerate. Park service presence. Cannot beat the price.By Laurie Culpepper (6 months ago)An amazing off-season experience. Once we found a spot out of the wind, the whole group (2 adults, 4 kids) was able to settle in for easy dune/beach exploration, grilled food, and a comfortable time.
The bathrooms were clean, warm, and convenient. The ranger was nice as can be and very accommodating.
Access to the beach is unparalleled on the island – seriously, as close as you can stay to the beach on Ocracoke.
The camp ground is a quick hop from town, but far enough to make it feel a world away from anything.
Stars on a clear night at the campground will blow your mind.
By Casey Robertson (3 months ago)Quiet, great access to the beach and inlet, the Village has everything at a reasonable price. Campground is well kept, clean bathrooms and showers (cold water only), grass not thistles. Although the campground has no hookups, across the street there’s a dump station and freshwater fill station.Dump station needs some attention. The cap is rusted out. It’s nice that non potable and potable water is available, however, there’s no way to hook up a filter when filling the freshwater. Also, I saw a camper van use the potable water hose to clean her dump hose even though everything is clearly labeled and a non potable hose is available, so I sanitized the fresh hose after her. BYO hose would solve that issue and allow the use of a filter.
By Nancy Hong (2 weeks ago)Very nice campground with access to ocean beach, bay, and walking trail. Space is extremely generous compared to the private campgrounds on Ocracoke, and location in the State Park is far superior for natural beauty. Showers were limited and cold.By Thaddeus Taylor (5 months ago)Camp hosts were very friendly and let us know a storm was coming and the ferry would likely be shut down. Mosquitoes are horrendous so take some long sleeves. Can only make campfire on the beach. Loop a bathrooms were closed so we had to walk all the way to loop c every time.By Amy Riley (a week ago)

We stayed for 1 month and truly enjoyed it. We stayed in a campsite which they all have lots of room on concrete pads. The pool is very nice, nice game room. Laundry room has 2 washers and dryers and is very clean. Bath/shower houses are very clean. Staff is extremely nice and Marv and Martha truly worked very hard to maintain the cleanliness of the park and were so very friendly. We enjoyed kayaking the canals and the convenience to stores in the village by bicycle, which is a great way to travel while there. Also close to beach, Graveyard of Atlantic museum and ferry to Ocracoke.By Gayla Vest (7 months ago)The toilet and shower in our cabin were clean, but that was about it. Our feet were black from the floors. The beds had been sprayed with cleaner and the smell was a bit overwhelming.
It’s a place to lay your head down at the end of a day at the beach/fishing.
It’s not a bad place if you can handle making peace with the fact that it’s not going to be spotless, clean.
Overall, the cabin wasn’t bad. People were respectful.
I’ve included a picture of the papertowel used to wipe the floor.
By Francis (6 months ago)Did not have a good experience. If I could give a negative 5 star I would! Had a reservation for 4 nights, the hurricane decided to hit the weekend I was going. Who would want to willingly go to the water where there’s about to be a hurricane? Not I! Called to see if I could get my money back… told me they would give me a credit for a whole year, but I eat one night because I cancelled too late. Not friendly staff. Sent 4 emails regarding the issue, never got a response. Lady I spoke to on the phone was rude, I wouldn’t want to give them my business by the way they acted. Do not recommend! If you do go, make sure Mother Nature has no surprises even tho you have no control over it!By Kailee Melton (6 months ago)I stayed in Cabin 5 and was so highly disappointed. When booking this the website stated that everything had been newly renovated. However upon arriving it was very obvious that that was not the case. There was never anyone in the office for you to speak to you always either had to email or call. Since I made complaints about the state of the cabin I was staying in the owner decided to take it upon himself to get in my face and tell me that he wanted me to leave since I was so unhappy. I find this to be highly unprofessional. The campgrounds looked as if it had been run down for the last few years. According to staff they were not allowed during the winter to do any fixing of the cabins or Cottages during the winter and they were attempting to play catch-up when I arrived.By Kaitlyn Balsley (3 weeks ago)I stayed here for 5 nights and it was great. Friendly staff, clean open sites. I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommend.By Tony Roman (a month ago)

Loved this quaint little inn! GREAT location, super clean rooms, and the staff were so awesome and professional! Love the home-like feel here! We will definitely stay again! ❤️ Thank you for everything Roger! You are the best!
The staff was wonderful. The room was exceptionally clean. I work in the rental business and was very impressed with the cleanliness and the professionalism of the staff. Close to restaurants and variety store. you also can rent a golf cart to get around. Was so much fun. Thank you Pony Island!!
Spent New Year’s weekend at Ockracoke, it was awesome. Kim handled our reservations at Pony island and could not have been any nicer. Room was great and housekeeping staff, especially Maria was perfect. Highly recommend Pony Island Resort!
Nice clean & updated rooms. Great service at check-in & no issues while there. Highly recommend staying here.
This establishment saved my Ocracoke experience from being a complete disaster. My husband and I arrived in Ocracoke with our 4 year old around 6:45pm and had planned to camp on the national park service Campground and had picked a site next to the bathroom. Unbeknownst to us, that bathroom was closed for the season. We left to try another Campground and were swarmed by mosquitos covering our car inside and out!! I have never seen so many mosquitos in my life! Like a black cloud! We drove around to 3 other hotels and called places with no one picking up the phone or no one at front desks. We stopped at Pony Island Inn just in time before the wonderful gentleman working the front desk closed up. Roger was so nice and stayed late to get us checked in to a room for the night. I would say his service was above and beyond and I am so grateful. The room was VERY clean and comfortable. Thank you !!!!
