Outstanding customer service and breathtaking location! Amazing food at the restaurant with live music at sunset (and a delicious breakfast the next morning) made this stay truly magical. We stayed in the Cottage Bedroom with two doubles. There is a common room off the entrance with a fireplace, a desk, and the most stunning views. There are two bedrooms off the common room so it’s more private if you have both bedrooms booked. The bedroom and bathroom were extremely outdated, to the point where you couldn’t pay me to use the shower or hair dryer (layers of grime and dirt), and you had to be careful where you walked because there were large bugs crawling on the floor. I wore my shoes around, even during the night. The beds were clean, but I did not have a good sleep. I would stay here again, but only at the Lodge itself since I assume it’s better taken care of at double the price.By S R (7 months ago)We went this October for The Gal’s Weekend. Our room was in The Corson House on the ground floor with a deck open to the grounds and our view was facing Cape Smokey, great place to go and relax with a glass a wine. Hiked the Middle Trail where the views were breathtaking. I highly recommended the Gondola 🚠 Ride. You won’t be disappointed with the views at the top. Love Cape Breton and will be coming back next year!
Cheers 😀
By Carrie Thomas (6 months ago)Hotel rooms were way over priced for motel quality. Poor room service, the hotel staff are untrained and unprepared as it was quite obvious that asking for baking toiletries stumped them.Food at the purple thistle was over priced, over cooked and the service was poor. I felt bad for the server as she kept apologizing. We simply left. Complaints to management went nowhere.
I do not recommend!
By Janice Smyth (3 months ago)Most ridiculous hotel I’ve ever seen.
The view is the only thing they have left. I guess the golf too, if you’re going there to golf.
There was no hot water in our bathroom.
No heating in our room.
The cottages are old. You can’t use the fireplace.Food was tasteless. You could see the duck and lamb were of great quality, but they were done terribly. No salt, no spices, burnt sauces. I expect food to be good when I pay 50$ per main. Wasn’t expecting perfection, just wanted good food.
The charcuterie board was the only good thing. That being said, anyone can take charcuterie out of a container and put it on a plate.Such a shame. I’ve heard good things in the past but this place is a disgrace. Avoid at all cost.
By Gabrielle Gabrielle (6 months ago)AVOID AT ALL COSTS-
Dealing with Clare as our “wedding planner” has been a nightmare thus far. We have emails asking for specific dates in 2023, they replied saying 2023 was full but could accommodate the same dates in 2024, so we waited. It felt like pulling teeth to get an email reply back ever since we got Clare assigned to us. To say were disappointed is an understatement because the lack of professionalism displayed was beyond belief. Unorganized, broken promises and a complete lack of communication on their end was what we dealt with; but it’s over now. Silver lining truly is that we won’t have the added stress of working with this venue any longer. Thanks for wasting our time and pulling the rug from under us.By Hector Perazzo (a month ago)

I’ve stayed a couple times now, two nights each time. First time I was up in the hilltop rooms. They were new, everything was fresh and modern. Although it’s a walk to get there, it had a beautiful view of the beach. Second time was in the studio beach villa. It could use some upgrades, but I knew that going in. They’re obviously some of the first rooms built there. The bathrooms are very tiny but it gets the job done. Steps from the beach and the restaurant.
The food at the restaurant is fantastic. Zero complaints about the service. It is a touch pricey however if you factor in the convenience and fuel you’d need to travel somewhere else to eat it’s not that bad.
The beach is beautiful and large so even when it’s hot out it doesn’t feel overcrowded.
We’ll be back for a third time.
By Jason Trites (5 months ago)Beautiful location in sea side room. Restaurant food, ambiance and service was good.
However, resort facilities and service did not live up to expectations. Pool was tiny and not suitable for swimming.
On arrival for check in we were greeted with ‘can you move your car it is right in the middle of the parking lot’! (which was empty) No hallo smile or greeting. Customer service has a long way to go here.
On leaving our room at check out time, (there was no flexibility on check out time even in low season) the housekeeping team were waiting outside the door like vultures!
Not a good welcome or goodbye.By Tessa Garvan (6 months ago)I stayed here with husband, 1 year old son and our dog in the Seawood room over thanksgiving. We were really impressed with the room, super clean, spacious and well equipped kitchen! The balcony was huge and although we were the furthest building from the water, it still had a lovely view.We had lunch at the restaurant and the food exceeded expectations. I got the fish sandwich, fries were incredible.
My only complaint was the swimming pool doesn’t have showers (in the rec building), seems odd for cleanliness of the pool.
We think this is one of the best places to stay in NS. Can’t wait to come back for beach weather!
By Morgan Sheppard (6 months ago)Over priced 370.00can price of the two bedroom long hill top slight view of the beach hotel room which is definitely not beach side. Disappointed with the price, the hill top and the check in and out service was beyond disorganized.. Other than the fact all the family going to a wedding stayed there, I would never have stayed. There were cheesy puffs under the living room table and a black bug on my bed comforter. The restaurant is directly on the beach with great seats, but be sure to book a table it’s busy, and not that large. The eggs Benny was the best I have ever had, kudos to the chef.
The beach is flat, and not part of the hotel but actually a provincial park.
By lisa Dobson (6 months ago)We recently stayed at Quarterdeck in the winter for a family getaway with a 5 month old. The villa was perfectly suited to a visit with a baby and the customer service was second to none. Restaurant food was delicious and we’re fortunate for the beautiful stay in NS.By Jenna MacDonald (3 months ago)

Only way I could have enjoyed this place more is if I was there with a group of friends. The restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast (best if you book a time versus just showing up). The live entertainment at night was great. Walking the beautiful beach was amazing. Lots of things to do on site. Staff were wonderful all around. I will definately go back but will be bringing friends. Five star all around.
It was wonderful to be able to watch the sunrise and listen to the crash of the waves on the beach every morning and be in such a relaxing environment. I really enjoyed the buffets they had in the dining room during my stay and the server I had both evenings was lovely. I stayed in a lakefront room and am looking forward to visiting again.
This was our first time at White Point and we will be back! We loved our stay! Room was lovely, clean and roomy.
The service was amazing at the restaurant! However, the buffet was a bit of a hit or miss. Carving station was amazing and there was one delicious salad (Truffle Caesar!!) the rest was a bit sub par. I really love kale, beets and pecans but the salad that day was definitely a miss.
Over the family day weekend we spent a night at White Point. The service and atmosphere was great in the main lobby with the crackling fire. The 1 beer was extremely expensive ($10.50 plus a tip). The hotel room for the cost, well over $200 was not worth it. I felt like we were staying in a motel on an old highway.
My family and I had a wonderful experience at the White Point Beach Resort. Staff were so welcoming and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the various activities and didn’t want to leave!
Thank you for this lovely experience and we will come back!
