Celebrating a Big Birthday we booked an overnight stay. There were 11 in the group. The staff were amazing, the lakeside rooms were beautiful and the food was beyond delicious. It was the little touches like Happy Birthday written on the dessert plate in chocolate that helped to make it special. Every single person in our party said the same thing, “I wish we had booked to stay longer.” I would highly recommend.

    This place has it all.
Stayed in the Lodges with our dog. Brilliant the way you can bring your dog into the Hotel to certain areas for grub and drinks. All staff we dealt with were extremely friendly and helpful.
No need to leave Hotel complex as it has everything but town centre is only 20 min walk away.
This is a unique experience and we’ll definitely be back. It’s a bit pricey but well worth it.

Lovely location, rooms beautifully decorated, but the staff lack a lot of personality. No greetings at breakfast, no eye contact with us. During our dinner we asked for wine – the bottle was put on the table , top not removed and the waiter just left. Waiting staff let the hotel down.

Really great hotel. Great staff. Fantastic Stout. Food amazing. Atmosphere 10/10. Smallest of drawbacks would be the fact there is no live music on a Saturday night. But that’s all.

I am giving this place only three star because the restaurant Bar and Grill was nothing short than appalling!
No vegan options whatsoever and what they try to “make vegan” was very bad.
To put things into context, my girlfriend who is not vegan really liked the food and we were there during the Easter break, so, perhaps, they were understaffed or would have done better in another moment of the year, but I was very disappointed in the restaurant.
    Everything else was fine.

Just home from a night’s visit as a birthday treat from my children, place was beautiful, the nature walk was lovely, spent some time in the pool, it was lovely and quiet and relaxing, spa staff were so friendly and helpful. Throughout our whole visit the staff were all lovely, no negative experiences at all, couldn’t do enough and table service was excellent, plenty of check backs, and the food was absolutely beautiful Honestly couldn’t fault it at all. The entertainment was amazing, he was so talented, was such a nice time! Place is absolutely beautiful I can’t wait until I return 🙂

First time staying here and honestly couldn’t fault it. It was stunning from the bar and restaurant to the rooms and location it was truly a lovely stay. The food in the restaurant was delicious especially the desserts. The bar was warm and cosy with lovely staff. The room was spacious with all amenities you needed. We had breakfast the next morning which was a buffet and found it lovely with plenty of selection. Would highly recommend

We arrived to Lusty Beg Island on Tuesday and it is honestly one of the nicest places I’ve ever visited. The staff are so helpful and kind. I went to the spa today and had a facial back massage and Seaweed bath Melissa was the girl who looked after me and she was really good and really friendly. I highly recommend this place for a break away it is so peaceful and pretty. Thanks to everyone we will be definitely back 🙂 from the Bassett family

  1. A very solid 4 star hotel with outstanding facilities. Compliments must go to Joanne at the front desk and Ben at the restaurant for their incredible professionalism and dedication to service. We really enjoyed time relaxing in the 25 meter swimming pool, sauna and steam room overlooking the Newcastle promenade. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well laid out with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Breakfast buffet was extremely wholesome with hearty food to ensure a perfect start to the day. WiFi was functional, massage services were very well carried out and dinner was truly delicious. Check out was simple and uncomplicated. Thanks to the hard working staff throughout an entire hotel water issue which was dealt with very professionally, efficiently and effectively.

  2. Lost one star due to the dated bedrooms but the spa and gym are so fabulous that it’s easy to forget the less appealing rooms. Food is lovely and the walks around the grounds really are food for the soul. It’s easy to forget that you’re in the heart of bustling Newcastle. It’s definitely worth a visit. A great treat for couples and families alike.

  3. Upgraded to a nice studio, although some of the furniture a bit worn/stained (perhaps by pets who are apparently welcome in rooms!).
Staff throughout the hotel couldn’t have been more helpful.
Lovely dinner in Oak Restaurant, & 1 of the tastiest hotel breakfasts there we’ve had for ages.
Awesome views of sea & mountains from restaurants & hotel pool & jacuzzi.
However, despite all this, we left disappointed as we were refused entry to the pool on the last afternoon of our stay, because we had already checked out of hotel!

  4. Lovely place to stay, excellent service. Currently having a much needed refurbishment which will hopefully benefit this long standing hotel. Sadly dining quality is still not great. Food whilst good is not that of a top hotel and in some instances poor. Hope new owners can fix this soon.
