The 4-stars for this hotel are a totally joke.
Stay: 10 days, end of September 2022
Beautiful landscape but it does not compensate for the shortcomings of a bad management.
The staff is nice, almost willing but untrained, English language very difficult.

    The complex:
Wi-Fi – only available at the reception.
The lack of organization will be noticed already by the arrival
    They have a nice beach.
The garden is beautiful and big, with great potential but highly neglected, destroyed sport facilities.
    The rooms:
Big and nice. My room and the bathroom were cleaned every day, towels changed every day, and the bed was made daily, sheets were changed once during my 10 days stay!
    Pool area:
the pool has sea water, and it was not clean. The swimming cap is mandatory to get in the swimming pool even if you are. If you don’t have a cap, you can buy one for 3,5 euro and you will never use again.

Restaurant –bad organized, not clean and in need of major renovation
The tableware is composed of a mixture of old and chipped porcelain dishes and disposable plastic items.
When a food dish has run out, you had to wait for a while for the staff to fill it up again
The furniture is old and in a bad shape.
The guests are taking drinks with their bottles directly from the dispenser, I was shocked

    Terrible breakfast:
Chaos, poor quality and monotonous breakfasts:
    White bread only
1 type tinned ham, 1 type of salami, 1 type of cheese,
fruit – banana, oranges, pickled plums and apricots
vegetables – tomatoes, cucumber, green salad
    yogurt, cornflakes, muesli
scrambled eggs – cold, sausages, bacon,
    rolls, croissants, cake,
    coffee – the worse ever,
    Milk, tea, juices, water,
It is a pity about the whole complex, big and nice in a top location in Cala Gonone and it’s just outrageously neglected

We stayed here for 7 nights. Don’t really understand those negative comments here. Everything was great, staff, food, room has been cleaned everyday! Nice beach, 10 minutes walk from the city with shops and restaurants. We couldnt hear any noise at night. We definately recommend this hotel.

Definitely not a 4-star hotel – average 3-star if you ask me.

    I’ve spent here 10 days

I believe that most of the issues mentioned below are the result of poor management – staff from my observations are doing their best.

Rooms are nice & clean, but without Wi-Fi – I’m finding it as something very unique (in negative way) in “4” star hotel.
I feel that parties should end before 22, because noise from them can be heard in the rooms

Hotel staff members are friendly, but unfortunately not too helpful when something is broken.
In the one of ordered rooms the air conditioner was broken, at the beginning we received the information that it will be fixed after dinner. 6hours and 2 additional complaints later it was still broken and no one showed off to check or fix it. Fortunately we were offered to move to different room where ac was working. We feel that without our stubbornness we would wait forever for any reaction

The food was good, but the lunches and dinners were very crowded and to be honest are more looking like hunting for food, than a civilized consumption. After the first hour the food is no longer being restocked.
For some reason juices and hot drinks are available in the dining room only during breakfast – if you want to drink them later you have to go to the bar.
Bottom tablecloths are dirty, only the top cover is changed after usage so the view of stained tablecloths is something normal during the week.

The “all-inclusive” should be renamed to something else or defined more clearly as finding included drinks in “all inclusive” is hard as most of the things from bar menu are excluded from it.

The reception is usually very crowded during evenings. From my experience and observations be prepared to wait couple of hours for check-in as there are always only 2-3 staff members in the reception even if hotel is expecting large groups of guests.

Cashless system which have to be charged in the reception and cant be “uncharged” to recover unused money is a joke nowadays and seems to be obsolete. I don’t understand why I can’t use my regular bank card in the bar?

    Last observation:
Common areas suffers from the plague of moths – they are truly everywhere – they are not aggressive, just sitting everywhere.

Personally I’m going to avoid this place

In general the hotel is not bad but there are very important things to improve: for example, at the beginning there were no luggage transport to the room, nobody showed us the room and it was very bad room.. after complaining, we got the appropriate room ( the hotel was empty but they did not want to give us the room). The cleaning was early in the morning, at the same time, always interrupted and no English conversation with cleaning stuff available. The breakfast was early, only until 10 and very boring, every day the same ( same eggs, same cheese, same butter) and so on. People were very polite but the program also only in Italian language. The dinner was ok, but only from 19.30 to 22. First, it is late second not so much time to eat properly when all people are there. No WIFI in room what is unbelievable. One day, I came from the breakfast and I could not find my dress, somebody stole it! After complaining and almost crying they contacted the external laundry company and the stuff but nothing. Some days I was asking every day, nobody took the responsibility. By our neighbors the doors were open when they came from the beach!!! You dont have the drinks only if you pay but you can not pay with the card, you should take their card, pay the deposit, upload it and after this complicated procedure you can order something within the hotel! Simply way was- if you want to trink something, just pay with the card and finish!!! The vacation was beautiful because we love Sardinia but we would choose definitely another hotel and never stay in this one.

We made a reservation for 3 double rooms through booking.com and after arrival we waited in line for 1 hour to check in. After paying for the accommodation, we waited another 45 minutes to get our keys and room numbers (the rooms hadn’t been cleaned yet – it was 7pm!) and that also without an apology or small compensation from the management. Even just a glass of prosecco might have eased the tense atmosphere. On arrival at the rooms, we found that out of three rooms, the air conditioning only worked in one. We complained before leaving for dinner but no remedy. We originally wanted to extend our stay for two nights, but after the experience we were glad to spend another night elsewhere. And we are talking about a four stars hotel – I have never experienced a worse one, and with such passive staff. Never again!

Only few things can be pointed out as nice and comforting. The location of the place is very good in close distance to the main Cala Gonone beach. Also enough space for free parking (unattended) is fine. If you have a car, you can easily reach the passage to the Cala Luna bay as well as the market in the city center. The hotel also provides a ‘shuttle train’ to the beach, which works during the day.

We got a room which was located in the basement, i.e., our view was just the AC unit, water boiler, and the sidewalk. Fortunately, the location of the room was far from the restaurant, bar and the swimming pool, which means it was quiet. Should we got a room near the noisy place, we would ask for a different one for sure. Another thing is the breakfast. I would certainly expect something different from a 4* hotel – not the same meal every morning (just look at the scrambled eggs you offer) and the overall quality of the food SHOULD be better. Offering a cheap supermarket sliced ‘cheese’ or salami, some no-name runny chocolate spread, and ‘juice’ form a concentrate that was something unexpected in Italy 🙁 BUT the most horrible thing was the so-called coffee. You people should wake up – to get a decent cup of espresso in the morning is a standard. The machine was providing only a cup of a nightmare to drink.

Rooms were as you’d expect for an activity holiday although basic if all you’d want to do is lounge about, Breakfast buffet was a little unorganized as you never knew where the cutlery and condiments were kept from 1 morning to the next, cold sausages anyone???

    Resort itself seemed well maintained.

Nope. Swimming coup to use the pool. Ac with a poor conditioning system. Definitely not a good place to stay

It’s freaking noisy. You can hear loud music in every part of Cala Gonone.

Great place for Relax, silence, no teenagera making noise. Everything is ok, but it’s not Best place to come there with small Kids. Staff workers are really kind, aspecially guys from the bar. Animatora got many ideas how to make the public happy.

  1. Very nice resort , many pools and beautiful beaches. Few minus points in my opinion are : buffet could use bit more daily variety. Some restaurant furniture could use little paint job. Some area for shops are empty and seem bit run down and not so inviting. Staff friendly but lacks of good English in some cases. All in all: nice place !

  2. Horrible, avoid! Bad beach and food. Our room smelled strong of cigarettes and bed is made for people 5 feet tall. There is no beach…it is a rocky cliff. The food is not great and is swarmed with bees. Also random people crashed into our private patio and climbed on roof.

  3. We have stayed for a week experiencing the different parts of the huge Complex and never got enough of exploring.
We stayed at Dune bungalows and had such an amazing greet and attention by Barbara in charge for this part of the complex we stayed
Every day we have got different activities and had such an amazing time from dawn to dawn. The helpful staff at restaurants were just expressing the whole hospitality of Sardinians
This make our stay there really unforgettable!
Of course as a big group we needed more space and yo express our fun and feel free dancing.Huge thanks 🙏 to Loris at the sport bar close to the beach….he was just as part of our group…very professional and kind fulfilling all our drink and mudical request.
Just we dived in the divine nature and the whole staff make the place looking so unique!!

  4. Spent the day there and it was very nice. Good food at the restaurant, the beach there was really good and the staff was really nice! The animals area is really fun to go, you can pet and feed the goats, horses, ducks, etc. 100% recommended 🙂

  5. Me and my wife booked our honeymoon at your establishment (Cottage). As we are newlyweds, we were looking forward to the experience of your resort but also spend alone time together and celebrate our wedding. To do so, we chose to book a superior room at the Cottage Hotel with a private patio. The images on your website looked amazing, spacious, sea-view and a private patio. We decided to spend the appr. 50 Euro extra per night (Standard vs Superior).

When we arrived at your establishment late at the evening on the 31st of July 2022 we were assigned Room 753 (next to the reception). My wife and me took one-step in the room and could not believe our eyes. This room was nothing like the images on your website. We went straight to the reception and told the personal that there must be a mix-up, we haven’t got a Superior room, this is clearly a Standard room.
The personal insisted that room 753 was a Superior Room.

We understand that when you are booking a superior room you are not guaranteed to get a sea-view as it is nowhere stated so on your website. However, it is stated that when you are booking the Superior Room at the Cottage Hotel, you will get privacy and a private patio.

There where to private patio at Room 753 as our neighbors next door had to go through our “patio” to get to their room. In addition, there was a constant flow of people walking to the reception who had free sight into our room if we didn’t close the curtains. This was not how we imagine spending the privacy of our Honeymoon when we chose to book a stay at your establishment.
In addition, the door was broken, WIFI didn’t work and the TV had bad reception.
We tried for 3 days to talk to your personal at the reception; the only thing they offered us was a free dinner. However nice that is, we wanted that private patio as promised. After 3 days, we decided to leave your establishment and find another hotel.

We hope you understand how special this trip was supposed to be for us, our Hooneymoon. And how sad and deceived we feel.

Sent this as a letter to the hotel 6 months ago, but they havn’t replied in any way.
