  1. Only had a brief stay overnight, but the accommodation was lovely!

Flew into Hobart on a late night flight so I didn’t get to check in until around 10:30pm. Staff were super helpful, Room and facilities were clean and tidy. Really couldn’t have asked for anything more!

There is a lovely view over the harbor if you get a harbor view room, restaurant and bar downstairs (tried the restaurant on a previous visit) and the gym and pool are great too.

    A strong recommend from me!

  2. Location is great. Nice indoor swimming pool which is not restrictive in bad weather. Rooms are nice and tidy. Easy check-in and check out.

Breakfast had a decent range but not a wow factor. Food can also be refilled a bit quicker.

No lifts from car park but reception was happy to accommodate the luggage transfer to the room.

  3. The hotel is in close proximity to everything you’ll need and want to see in Hobart. Walking distance from the major restaurants, shops and right by the harbour (which makes for a fantastic view). It’s also one of the cleanest places I’ve personally stayed at in Australia.

They have a great breakfast buffet that’s a little on the pricier end ($33) but it more than makes up for it in quality. Moreover, it’s clear that there‘a a big focus on customer service. All the staff were wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable. Will definitely book again if I have business in Hobart.

  4. Location is excellent. Beautiful views from The Atrium. Rooms and shared spaces are clean. Great vegan food options when pressed, but felt like I had to twist the arm of service staff for them to ask the kitchen about vegan options. Would be better if vegan options were clearly labelled and/or front staff were better informed.

  5. Exquisitely located hotel with superb harbour views, generously large and well-appointed room, and the service from staff is outstanding. I have nothing but praise for this hotel, there are so many little touches that made my stay luxurious and memorable.

For example, the TV in my room is enormous, and even though the pillows are perfectly to my liking, I think it’s awesome that a pillow menu is provided to suit people’s individual preferences. The wifi is fast and stable, and one of the points I like best is the genuine commitment to the environment — separate bins for trash, paper and glass recycling! Bravo, Grand Chancellor.

This is definitely a hotel to which I shall return, and recommend to anyone visiting Hobart.

Absolutely fabulous we were in apartment 2203. The apartment was spotless, comfy beds was literally home away from home. Had our 2 grandsons with us, they loved the pools and the pirate ship slippery slide. Bonus was we could enjoy a delicious hot drink whilst watching them from the Cafe downstairs..also had a couple of breakfasts and they were great too. All in all the hotel was just perfect. Thank you so much.

4.25 stars for me. Overall our stay was great. What lacks in daytime service for those staying under 7 days, (and to be honest I didn’t make the booking so I didn’t read the terms), makes up more in the facilities and tools I need to ensure we keep the place as tidy as possible. The staff were professional and friendly whenever I talked to them and were understanding of our situation. I enjoyed the amenities that were available throughout my stay albeit I didn’t have much time to do so. On behalf of myself, my partner and our two little children, thanks for making our stay amazing. We’ve made memories here this week and we will cherish them for years to come.

Our family stayed here for few nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Our apartment was very clean. Kitchen looked to be newly updated, bathroom still dated but room was presented very nicely. The pool was amazing. By far best one of the best hotel swimming pools. Kids loved the pirate ship pool and nice and warm too! Staff were very friendly.

Beautiful rooms and two restaurants to eat if you don’t feel like going out or cooking with reasonable prices. The pools are fun and guaranteed to entertain your kids for hours on hours, there is a free gym and two jacuzzi/hot tubs. From your rooms you are sure to get beautiful views and such good photo opportunities along with a wide view of the beach and city. I definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking for a room to relax in and activities for kids.

Hotel is very old , full of mould.
Common areas have an awful odours and it looks like the windows have never been cleaned .
The sauna has been neglected and the steam room has a scent of mould.
Not to mention towels for the pool are not included in the room price .
No extra toilet paper given because we didn’t stay for more then 8 nights
    Pathetic.
Would not stay here again. One of the worst experiences .

We only had dinner here at Sunsets bar and grill. We didn’t stay here. We saw our friends room it was beautiful and had so much storage space. There was a big king size bed and tv, with coffee tea and mini bar fridge. We were pretty amazed. Best location in Cable Beach area

Have stayed many times before and it was always great but they have changed. Won’t be staying there again. Adults pool was closed and had been for a week but they didn’t tell us – we only found out when we went to the pool. that pool was the main reason we came. When we complained they offered us a $100 food voucher for it – not even close to enough when you’re paying $400/night with the main draw-card being the pool

We didn’t stay at Cable Beach but we went to Kichi Kichi for dinner and then took a look around the resort. So beautiful and relaxing. It’s like another world. We loved the huge family pool AND that there was a separate equally big, deep pool just for adults. We were greeted by friendly and professional staff who welcomed us in and looked after our bikes while we enjoyed a delicious dinner by the pool.

    Italian restaurant was yum.

Oh my goodness! What a place to stay! My third trip here and it never disappoints. I had a pool terrace room which led out to the adults only pool. That’s not R rated! Just, no children. There is a beaut family pool though near the family bungalows. Staff are wonderful. Aircon is sublime. The little airport shuttle needs to be booked in advance and is $5 each way. The driver delivers your luggage to your room.
