Great location! Beautiful pool area. Rooms were a bit dated, but extremely clean. The restaurant one site was the best place around for breakfast after watching the sunrise. Their dinner service on the beach was perfect with nightly live music and games on the lawn. The only downside was the bar. They made some great drinks, occasionally. It seemed like there was one bartender who didn’t know how to add the correct amount of alcohol to a drink. We would get refills on the same drink, that would be completely different than what was first served..
Overall the hotel and restaurant were fabulous and I can’t wait to return!

Stayed here Nov 25-Dec 3 and had a great time. Hotel was just what we needed. Rooms were clean and had comfortable beds. Hotel was a good central
location to either end of the island. Lava Lava Beach Club restaurant was very good and nice to have on site. Will miss the FBI omelette. I believe her name was Angela but she was so lovely and helpful at the front desk. She was genuinely friendly/engaging. If we ever come back to the island would stay here again. Thanks again.

    We really enjoyed this spot.

We spent our honeymoon hiking and camping around the island and had booked several nights at the end of our trip at another resort close by. Shortly before leaving for our trip we realized we had booked one day short and needed an extra night accommodations to line up with our flight home. The resort we were at before didn’t have any availability so I looked for something that would still be close by to the airport. That’s how we spent the last night at this hotel!

The rooms are clean and I actually like the decor choice. It’s funky and retro and it’s clean. The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our flight off the island wasn’t until about 1030pm and they gave us a late check out at 2pm and said we could use the facilities for the rest of the day while we waited to go home.

The bar in the hotel has a nice view of the beach and it’s open concept. The lava lava flow drinks are awesome. It is a busy place though so service can be a bit slow but it’s a nice place to hang out so it’s really not a bother.

Also! It is very central and a close walk to the Coconut Marketplace which has a nice grocery store with great meal options to save money when not eating at restaurants.

Rooms are comfortable with great AC and we were able to get Netflix on the TV which was a wonderful luxury after backpacking around for a week!

This place lived up better than expected. A great location. Water on the beach is rough and a bit dangerous if you have young kids but there is a smaller little part to the right that is surrounded by rocks which I’m assuming the property did that is much calmer and only about maybe 3′ deep perfect for my 2 year old. There is also a small mall area with great food options just a minute walk away. Really enjoyed my stay here and if I do come back to this island will definitely stay again! Complimentary valet service plus beach towels and bike access.

Kauai Shores was the perfect stay for us. Love the hospitality, smiles and warmth that the staff welcomes you every day. It is extremely clean (considering all the feathered pets around) and Lava lava food next to it, is the cherry on the cake. Also the daily morning yoga sessions were very Grounding. The perfect combo for a getaway recharging vacation. Thank you!

Nice hotel right in the middle of the island which makes getting to all locations on the island doable. Rooms are a bit dated. Lobby is updated though. Be ready to run the dehumidifier in the room 24/7 to avoid the damp and musty feeling of the rooms. Appreciate the refill water stations. Parking fills up fast but there is an overflow area that’s a bit further of a walk. Was impressed with their breakfast selection. Pools are okay. Have to walk a ways to get down to the beach. Appreciate the activities that the hotel provided. Thankful for a fridge and a microwave in the room. Don’t expect an early check in. Ocean view rooms are not worth the extra cost because you are right by the pool so absolutely zero privacy

My family just experienced our 10th trip to Kauai a week ago and we used my husband’s points to stay 8 nights. Each morning we had breakfast at the hotel and enjoyed the excellent service our waitress, Jay, gave us each morning at breakfast. She is wonderful at customer service. Our rooms were nice and we loved the pool area as well. The bar was well located but the food was overpriced and disgusting. I’m fine with paying a high price in Kauai but would like to actually enjoy the food. My husband is a diamond level with Hilton and is used to having perks with that level. The only people to acknowledge this were the breakfast restaurant. Our room would get cleaned if the staff had time and often missing replacement towels.

We asked to rent one of our rooms for an extra night due to our late night flight and were quoted $550 for the night. When we told her that we’d be out by 7pm, we paid $185 (this is with the resort fee added in for an extra 8 hours). Other hotels we have stayed in on our Kauai vacations have been way more accommodating without charging us anything. It seems being a diamond level isn’t important to this location.Overall, we enjoyed our time here.

I must say I was quite disappointed as a Diamond member. The first room they gave me smelled like mildew and had a damp feeling to it. The room they moved me to was better but the previous person that had stayed there soap, strings of hair and shower gel was left in the shower and some of the shower corners were really dirty. They had humidifier in the room and they sprayed the room to keep the mildew smell away. some of the outlets did not work. the desk area had spots all over it.
The customer service upon arriving wasn’t great and they lied about availability to avoid upgrading my room. And when I brought it to the customer service person he acclaimed if they upgraded me it would be a cost despite my Diamond member status.

Now the scenery around the hotel was beautiful and it was close to attractions. Saturday morning they have a craft festival and food trucks that I must say are quite tasty.

The hotel can use a full renovation and some maintenance on the mildew smell in the rooms. It has good potential but can use some work.

I absolutely loved my stay here! Everyone and I mean every single one here working at the hotel was above and beyond helpful friendly and professional! I loved how there was so so so much to do and they offered different agendas for you to try out. I loved getting to know the culture and trying out all the different foods! We ate something different every single day! Fun activities were done every single day. I mean this week just flew by! I love that the beach was right there conveniently in front of us! Overall it was super fun and relaxing and peaceful and I just can’t express enough about how awesome this week turned out! I would definitely stay here again! Everything was so clean! A huge shout out to Leo who took care of us every day with our meals and a huge shout out to Curt signing us up for the helicopter ride! If you’re thinking about doing it let me tell you right now DO IT! thank you to everyone else working at the hotel for giving us this amazing experience and memories to remember for a lifetime!!! We will be back!!!

Location was great. Loved the beach that had the perfect little cove for kids. From the outside it’s a decent looking hotel. The inside is a bit dated especially the rooms. There is 2 washing machines for the whole hotel so expect to wait and get lucky if you plan to do some laundry. So why the bad review? I stayed there 4 nights and probably killed at least 6 roaches during my time there. Not something I was expecting to see while on vacation. Given how much I saw in the short time I was there I doubt this was an isolated incident

  1. Loved this little hotel for a family stay. We had a canal view room. It was cute, clean, and well set up, including dishes! 15 minute walk to the beach with kids. Our favourite part was the social lobby where we could gave dinner and hang out. Good price for laundry too!

The only down side for us was that the room deck wasn’t safe for our little one – she easily fit through the bars at 1.5 years old so we didn’t get to enjoy the view to the fullest. Just something to be aware of if you’re coming with little kids!

  2. Room amenities:3 star
    Value: 3.5 star
    Hospitality: 4 star
    Location: 5 star

    Details below ———>
Room Amenities: We stayed on the 4th floor and the water pressure in the shower seems to be quite low and a bit inconvenient. Our shower drainage was also clogged on day 1 and had to call for maintenance. The bathroom is very small and design/remodel is also a bit awkward – the toilet paper is in a hard to reach position and the towel rack is too low to hang a regular towel without touching the toilet. There is also no microwave, only shared public ones.

Value: The amenities provided could be better given the $40/day resort fee. We only utilized bike/towel/beach chair and umbrella for 2 days for the 5-night stay. Wish they provide things like snorkeling gear rental or complimentary breakfast etc. which might be more demanding than others provided. The beach area is also too dangerous to swim (at least in winter), though resort is right by the water.

Hospitality: Staffs are friendly and helped us with towels/bike/beach chair and umbrella rental.

Location: conveniently located near airport/grocery/stores & restaurants/recreational sites. We went during winter, so south of Kauai is preferable due to limit of recreation activities in the north.

  3. We loved it here. We had an extended stay of about a month. They were gracious enough to allow our dogs to stay with us when we lost our home to a fire, but they are pet friendly, not just our dogs. The staff were always pleasant and treated us kindly. The place was neatly maintained. Room service was always helpful when we needed them. We were left alone when we wanted to be, but they did come do a safety check as we locked ourselves away from the world after our circumstance for a few days, and we appreciate their concern.

  4. We had a great time stayed 5 nights here this week. The room was very roomy and the beds were very comfortable. There are sanitizer dispenser everywhere, water dispenser by the pool, water filter by vallet desk, free arcade, free fruits on sticks and shave ice at the pool, and microwave to use. The kids pool was very dirty on the 1st day but after that its all clean. The beach access is great and we saw sea lions there. We love the view from our room.

  5. I had the pleasure of staying here for 5 days at the beginning of March, and it was amazing. We had a beach front room with a balcony that we used every morning to watch the sunrise. It was also so nice to see other people up early and enjoying the view from the hammocks on the beach. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Patrick and Fernando, were very helpful in getting us sorted out with the bikes you can borrow from the hotel and pointed us in the right direction. Cedric and Micah, at the front desk took care of all our room needs. It was also very nice to come back “home” to friendly faces after a day of adventure on the island. We even took advantage of the morning yoga that was offered, which was such a great way to start the day. I also loved the fresh fruit kebabs handed out during happy hour by the pool. The location of the hotel was very convenient cause we could easily go in any direction around the island. Everything felt like it was no further than 30-40 mins away. The only down side in my opinion is the lobby bar closed around 9:30pm, but that seems to be very common for everywhere in Kauai. I would stay here again in heartbeat. Thank you so much for the lovely experience.
