Wonderful amazing stay. Please know that I am a super picky traveler. Due to noise sensitivity and chronic pain issues I rarely find a Hotel/Resort that meets all of my needs. I cannot say enough good things about the Beachside Resort. We stayed here in November for 9 nights in one of the Penthouse suites. Everything from the front desk staff to housekeeping to check in and check out was the best experience we have ever had. The front desk staff were nothing short of kind, helpful and amazing. They accommodated a fantastic rate and and extended stay. Housekeeping replenished everything we needed daily. These suites are like a home away from home and the ocean view is incomparable. I have travelled extensively over the years and stayed in many places and this one is definitely at the top of my list.By Jo-Ann Spellman (4 months ago)Came with hubby for short get-away. Excellent location and view. The suite was very spacious.
Great pool and hot tub I enjoyed the spa- Nancy gave a great massage- back and feet. Extremely strong hands.
Our only complaints: the bed is too firm and the shower pressure was underwhelming.
By Jessica Barak (2 months ago)The hotel was a bit more run down than I expected, especially at this price point. The pillows were really flat and chunky. Both queen beds in our room sloped down towards the headboard. Even with a pillow, your head is angled downwards. The room smelled stale, which was a bit off-putting. It smelled like an old motel room that has been renovated, but the building looks relatively new, so that can’t be.
If you are a light sleeper, be forewarned about the heating – it’s VERY loud when it turns on.
The pool and hot tub were basic, but nice that it’s indoors and heated.
The location is great, and if you get an oceanfront room, the view is amazing! There are also lots of restaurants within walking distance, but only one on the premises.
Based on reviews, I expected more out of this stay, so I was disappointed with our weekend here.
By A L (4 months ago)Stayed for 4 nights in 2 bedroom waterfront suite. From the start the night clerk was extremely helpful getting us registered and making sure we had everything in our suite to start our stay there. Suite has everything you need to relax, look at the fantastic view and cook meals. They even found a bench for my elderly parent to use in the shower. Cleaning and restocking was done in a considerate and efficient manner. Many of the staff went out of their way to answer questions and help.
The bedrooms were spacious and had very comfortable beds. The living area was expansive, with a full kitchen, dining table and large relaxing area with hidebed, two high back chairs and gas fireplace…not to mention the tv. Spent lots of time reading our books and staring out the large windows at the spectacular view. Outside the hotel is a fantastic boardwalk that follows along the whole beach. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to get away for a deluxe self contained vacation. Great location and unbelievable vista!By Jim Wyllie (2 months ago)Absolutely amazing. The sweetest, most kind staff, a gorgeous building, incredible rooms. My room had a huge soaker tub and a balcony big enough for a table and two chairs. It really feels like the lap of luxury here. Highly recommend.By Alex Blahout (4 months ago)

Beautiful view & location. Restaurant servers were so friendly & the food was amazing.
The staff go out of their way to make your stay welcoming. Rooms were a descent size as well as immaculate with comfortable beds. The pool was pretty incredible too! I highly recommend. Make sure to book directly with hotel for complimentary secure parking.By Sherry Jensen (8 months ago)My boyfriend and I had a great stay at the Oak bay Beach Hotel. The hotel itself is stunning and the Christmas decorations were classy and made it even more special. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond. We were disappointed that the hot tub was not working during our stay but the staff did everything they could to rectify the situation. I will definitely be recommending the hotel to friends and family.By Olivia Dubé (5 months ago)The Oak Bay will forever be special to me. I’ve never loved a hotel soo much. It was so peaceful there. I loved the quietness of being away from downtown. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The view of the ocean was breath taking. The staff were awesome and kind. I really enjoyed the pool, next time I’ll have to book a treatment at the spa (everything was booked up for my trip already). I was so sad to leave, I wish it didn’t have to come to an end. I will 100% come back, hopefully soon! The only things I would like to critique that hot tubs were quiet cold and the jets did not work on one tub. I wish they were warmer! Also the food prices were very high at the restaurants and the quality wasn’t the best for the price.
By Jessica Ferleyko (6 months ago)Stunning hotel in a beautiful location and amazing old British style wood decor. Rooms were very high quality and we had an incredible view from our balcony. Mineral pools were very relaxing despite having a few too many rules explained to us when entering. Shout out for John at Valet – very nice! Highly recommend this hotelBy Phil (7 months ago)Absolutely everything here was luxury and comfort. Gracious and professional staff. Clean and hospitable. Room service is Lovely and they check in on you at least twice a day if you need anything. The restaurants in the hotel are delicious albeit expensive. The pool is relaxing although many jets are not working. Cozy high quality robes and cardboard slippers for lazying around. Kitchen in the room has a stovetop, fridge, dishwasher and microwave with pots, cutlery and dishes. Lots of local delis to bring food back from and scrimp on room service. Peppers foods is a 10 min drive through the mansions Boulevard. Lots of nearby local parks to explore on foot.Only complaints: the construction on a building next to the hotel so I urge you to avoid getting a room with a “residential view” and pay the extra $50-100 for an “ocean view” room if you like to sleep in past 8am.. the $25 a day parking fee when there is absolutely no other choice to park in the sleepy neighborhood.

I went here for a yoga retreat with friends. Beautiful resort with a lovely, but pricey, restaurant. Customer service wasn’t great and there was a long line to check-in and check-out. Plus they screwed up our group rates.
The grotto is really nice. Packed, but nice. The spa services were okay… definitely just average compared to other spas I’ve been to. Very expensive too.
The tapas event was fun and the food was amazing.
The first cabin we were assigned to was very small and didn’t have enough beds. And it was dark with an old feel. After complaining, we were upgraded to a much nicer cabin with an awesome tub in the master bedroom! Like an open concept bedroom & bathroom. However, my friend and I still had to share a bed. It’s strange that we booked a room for a certain amount of adults but they didn’t give us rooms that accommodated our sleeping needs. They knew it was a yoga retreat and should have assumed that we’d want our own beds. We had fun and made the best of it though.
The pool was small but alright. Gym was tiny. Fun park for the kids. Easy beach access- great place to look for tiny ocean creatures.
I would go back again but wouldn’t book any spa services. Good place to go to with friends or with family.
A very enjoyable stay here, and the cabin style room was pleasantly large with lots of room for two families to share or one large family with a few kids! Expected a bit more of the resort for the price paid. Was a nice walk down to the beach, which is famous for its high and low tides, you can walk for what feels like forever in the sand!
The Tighnamara is just blah. For $350 total a night on off season I expect better.
The good, loved the general nature vibe and loved the cabin and woodsy setting right by the water. The cabin had a fireplace and full kitchen which was great.
The bad, it’s just really expensive for what you get. Check in is at 5pm and not a minute earlier. Check out is at 11. I found check in time quite late and wanted more time in the cabin. The beds weren’t that comfy or clean. My bedding had a yellow stain on it. And I found hair in the bath tub. The floors were also quite dirty too.
The grotto spa mineral pool was nice experience and I enjoyed the cave setting but it costs an extra $50 to get in for an hour and mandatory gratuity. Pretty expensive for basically a pool experience. If you don’t pay you do get access to the normal pool which is nothing too exciting.
The restaurant on site is really lacking. The food wasn’t the greatest but it was edible. Upon check in the hotel gives you a $15 voucher for the restaurant but fail to mention you can only use it during your stay so when you check out it’s void. We ate after checking out and so we didn’t get $15 off.
Also if you come in the winter prepare for many restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops to be closed too so not much to do around town in the winter.
Overall, glad I went and checked it off my to visit list but likely won’t return.
I had a really amazing day at this spa as did my friends who had massages and would highly recommend this Spa. The mineral pools were lovely, it was clean, staff were very friendly and informative. Probably the best SPA EXPERIENCE I’ve had. 5 star for sure. They have a tree house lounge to visit while you are taking a break from the mineral pools or other spa treatments. There is also a restaurant called Cedars as part of the Resort that was also excellent.
My mom and I came here for a birthday celebration spa getaway and Tigh-Na-Mara did not disappoint. The rustic cabins were the real deal log cabins. We had a cute duplex with a full kitchen.
The spa was very nice indeed, with a relaxing dip in the grotto pools, followed by a facial and then rest in the lounge area. We ate at Cedars restaurant which was a fine dining experience. I had the braised short rib gnocchi. The only thing I missed was I didn’t get to see the seaside on our stay, our room was in the middle of the property and there was a king tide and lots of rain so accessing the beach wasn’t recommended. We will have to go back in summer time to get the full experience.
