Great hotel! It is close enough walk to town to visit bars/restaurants, but far enough away to get plenty of peace and quiet. Phenomenal private beach that is easily accessed from your room, and the pool (especially the second level) is beautiful. The staff was incredibly helpful with booking travel from the airport, taxis around the island, off-island tours, room cleaning, etc. We cannot wait to go back!By Patrick Rooney (4 months ago)Ecologically minded, great breakfast spread, comfy bed. Clean rooms no mold. Stayed in upstairs room with zero insects. Drinking water provided. Beach beds could use new pad mattresses if I was picky, wooden bed foundations great and adjust, can even use as a hiding spot under adjustable backrest. Pads were older and vecro straps no longer work as weathered at Velcro. Nice well presented staff.By Brian Stuart (a month ago)This place is not like it’s advertised!! If you are expecting a luxury experience, look elsewhere. We have only been here a few hours.
My boyfriend upgraded for the private pool and beach view. Absolutely no beach view and the “private pool” is dirty and not worth it at all.
Additionally, while the rooms are clean, they are exceptionally small and the bathroom looks like there could be creatures that crawl out of it. Totally underwhelming for a “private pool and a beach view”
Lastly, whatever you do, don’t upgrade for the all inclusive. It IS NOT even close to all-inclusive and is wildly misleading. It doesn’t include one of two restaurants on the resort, and the one that is does include has like 3 meal options. Additionally the “all-inclusive” doesn’t include even half the alcohol.
Total waste of time to upgrade to the private pool, beach experience, and all inclusive meal options. None of the things they tell you on the website or while checking in.
Total false advertising. Would not recommend if you are wanting a luxury experience.
By Emily Skoney (a month ago)Quiet, Family friendly, Beautiful layout of individual Cottage style rooms with AC & ceiling fans. Ground floor units have individual mini/soaking pools. Main pool has swim up bar next to restaurant. Comfortable beds, clean crisp linens and extra blanket available. Modern flush toilet, hot and cold running water. Mini fridge stocked with canned drinks. Hot water for shower not always available. Breakfast restaurant is excellent with wide menu fare. Lunch is late at 1pm to 3pm. Menu offerings are well balanced with Meat,Fish and Vegan choices. Dinner is at 7pm till 10pm.By Griswold Quirolgico (a month ago)Location: 5/5
Service and staff: 2/5 for what you are paying service and staff are poorly trained.
– They make up stupid “rules”. For example you can’t order canned coke on the downstairs restaurant only on the upstairs restaurant. I understand that but they tell you you have to grab it yourself.
– They give you a card for beach towels that is worth $200 pesos. If you lose the card you have to pay for it. For a beach hotel is not very logical to give cards that easily get lost.
– My wife and I were woken up at 9:00am by the cleaning personnel. Don’t imagine a nice knock knock they knocked the door like they were trying to bring down the door.
– There were other minor details that you expect when paying this amount. For example the speakers were kept with the “aux noise” for hours during breakfast. Pretty annoying.
Food: 2/5 not very tasty sometimes terrible. ALL INCLUSIVE IS NOT WORTH IS UNLESS YOU ARE DRINKING ALCOHOL. They have “themed food nights” but trust me food is not worth it.By alberto zimeri (4 months ago)

in the accommodations, the toilet often could not be flushed. electricity and water went out several times. the breakfast is unfortunately below criticism. we ordered a taxi at the reception for 100 pesos to the port, by the time we got there it was 150.
the staff is decent, the location is good, the mattress is comfortable. internet doesn’t really work. overpriced like everything else on the island.By Ákos Tóth (a month ago)Honestly I was not impressed by the hotel. The swimming pool is awfully placed, no chairs to lounge by the pool and captures no sun. Very low water flow in the shower and they will charge you extra for everything – even a hand towel. The hotel is going through renovations so forget about staying there to relax during the day. Breakfast is pretty much the same every day so if you’re staying more than 3 days you’ll be sick of it.By Bruna Vieitez Sanches (4 months ago)The hotel room was great and could’ve held many more people than we had in our room. The staff is very kind and quick to help with anything that we needed. The breakfast was also very good.By John Carpenter (3 months ago)Nice location, friendly staff, rooms were ok and clean. Pool a bit cold, and the roof top terrace (unfortunately during high season) under construction.
All in all, recommendable due to its location.
Better come to Holbox now, before it’s too expensive to get there!By Sabrina Padberg-Philipp (3 months ago)The rooms are spacious with and feature a nice hammock. The breakfast always consist of fruits, pancakes and an egg-dish. We also liked the kindness of the staff and the location, in a few minutes you are on a beautiful beach. The wifi works mostly good, but is available only in the reception. I don’t know why it can’t be extended to the rooms as well, because mobile data coverage is not very good in this area and going down every time to get internet is annoying.
The waiting times for breakfast are quite high, especially when more people come. We ended up waiting for about 15 min for an omelette.

Thank you for reading! If you have any additional information on the best Beach Resort in Holbox, Mexico, please leave a comment below. We would love to hear from you!
My wife and our parents just stayed there for just one night. What can you say? It was definitely worth the travel to get to the island. We are staying in Puerto Morealus. The staff was very accommodating and the hotel itself is literally a dream. Sorry for the pun. The beaches are some of the best that I have ever seen and I am very well traveled. There are little blimps just like in any hotel. The food form the restaurant was delicious as you can Imagine a little bit pricey, but hey, you’re in the middle of nowhere on ann island.
Flor from the front desk was extremely knowledgable and very helpful. We had room 305. Must say it was amazing to have a hot tub on the patio and we actually loved our little raccoon visitors. Would love to have been able to stay for longer thank you everyone at the hotel it was a pleasure to stay with you.
There are definitely a lot of different hotels in choices on the island, but from what I can see this would’ve been one of the best.
As of writing this review I am laying in my bed, awake. I want to sleep but the noise from the next door hostel is keeping me awake. The earplugs that should be in the room are not here. Luckily I have my own, but they don’t block the noise. We complained about the noise this morning but nobody seemed to care about it. After complaining they said that they can’t do anything about it since it is another establishment. But you can file a noise complaint! Do that! Or you’ll keep having annoyed guests.
It’s such a shame, because the hotel has much to enjoy. But how can you enjoy when you are constantly falling asleep because somebody was banging drums the night before. As long as this hotel doesn’t do anything to stop the noise from the neighbours STAY AWAY FROM HERE. When they fix it, it will be a nice place to stay on Holbox. I am afraid the next days are going to be ruined by this noise.
Loud Music until 11 PM. They only give you one pillow in each room and we were spending over $400 a night. When I asked for additional pillows, we only got one more pillow for the both of us. The linens were of a 2 star motel, the bathroom smelled like it was overflowing the entire time, even though it was not. Everything needs to be upgraded, the furniture is old the bathroom is outdated and it has a musty smell.
Worst of all the last night that we were there the on-site restaurant will not add any meals to your room. Instead, they waited until 11 PM the night that we were leaving and had to get up at 6 AM the next morning to knock on our door and ask for payment. Woke me up and I couldn’t get back to bed for two hours. Who does that?
We spent over $1700 for the four nights at stay and it was awful. Never again.
Lovely stay, right on the beach, kind and helpful staff. Excellent sunset views (go to the rooftop bar!). Walking distance to everything. The hostel next door did play music but we could only hear it in our bathroom. Kept the door shut and it really was not an issue. Room 102.
We stayed here for a week. The room was somewhat small and bare. No basic essentials like wash cloths, facial tissue, coffee/tea or even clean drinking water. There was a mini-fridge to store water and beer. The rooms are not soundproof – you can hear normal conversations outside and cell phones vibrating in the rooms above and next door. I recommend bringing a white noise machine or ear plugs. Breakfast is mediocre at best. Both Mr. Happy and Le Jardin are easily within walking distance and worth the trip. Lunch and dinner were much better. This hotel is definitely overpriced but the friendly staff made up for it. Javi was amazing! He gave us recommendations and was very accommodating during our entire stay.
