  1. Nice room but considering the price it was really expensive. No complimentary breakfast and no special touches that you might expect. Only apples in the lobby and flavoured water. Pool area was so so , and a bit dated. beds were top notch but they did forget to make up our room one day. We had to ask for a microwave but the did send one up for us to use. The mini fridge didn’t hold much. We loved the location being so close to the waterfront. We didn’t rent a car so walking everywhere was very good. Lots of restaurants and things to do downtown. The downtown seemed very safe and not sketchy like Winnipeg is. Only got asked for money once by a hobo during our 5 day stay. We got asked if we needed help finding something three times which was a nice surprise, the hotel is also a very short walk to a superstore grocery store where you can find nice breakfast and lunch items that can be taken on the go. Which probably should be included in the room price. I did notice that you can upgrade to a continental breakfast but that was something like 60$ more so we opted out of that and bought food for ourselves and went to breakfast restaurants for way cheaper.

  2. I was here from UK about a month ago. I have to say the staff offered some of the best service I have received. Nothing was too much trouble. The room I had was large and very comfortable. It was a bit dated, but when I adjusted to the style it was just fine, and cleaned daily. Restauant was a bit pricey, but there were local alternatives. Food in evening was good. I would stay here again for definite.

  3. The location is great. The rooms are up to date and clean. Service was great as well. They have 1 J-1772 charger which I was able to use each night. I would suggest adding additional 2 J-17 chargers and a couple Tesla chargers. That alone will increase the appeal of staying at the hotel. Overall it was a great stay.

  4. Wonderful hotel – great reception.

The views overlooking the harbor are nice.

The welcome note from the hotel is a nice touch.

    Kudos to team Westin Halifax.

*Update Nov 10th. Interestingly room service dropped off dinner, and it was someone else’s order. Still tasty – just not what I had decided on. The fries and grilled chicken sandwich are delicious!

  5. The hotel has friendly staff. The room was decent. The sink in the the bathroom didn’t drain properly so water would accumulate. The shower was difficult to turn on (you have to give a hard pull towards you) but the water pressure was great. Great location. I would stay again.

For places like this, I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Stayed there for 3 nights. Queen-size room with the view of the lake – very peaceful break I had. Room was very clean and spacious.
Staff is excellent too. Very helpful and always eager to sort out things. Breakfast was great too. I have recently turned vegetarian so I am still finding it difficult sometimes but there were ample options for me there. I am already thinking of going back there again next year (summers may be).

The hotel is in a great spot to travel Halifax and area. The double queen room we had overlooked the lake. A great view. The room was clean and spacious. The staff at the hotel was AMAZING!! Kind courteous and helpful. We weathered Hurricane Fiona there and we’re well cared for given the emergency. We would absolutely stay there again

Traveled for medical appointments for several weeks and every time I stayed at the Chocolate Lake Best Western, I was extremely pleased with the service I received and the quality of the facilities. The only inconveniences I experienced while staying at the hotel were self-inflicted but that didn’t stop the staff from going above and beyond to help me solve my issues. There is a little shop where you can buy anything you may have forgotten, the staff is friendly and competent, there is a nice atmosphere at the bar, the restaurant offers large portions, awesome for sharing. The breakfast is satisfying, and the hotel is centrally located, close to the Halifax Shopping Center. Finally, the price is very reasonable, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a comfortable stay.

It’s a good hotel just outside of downtown area. States here for almost a month and I must say that I enjoyed my time here. The only downside it they don’t have any kitchen counter part if you planning to stay for longer days just like me. Else its a very good hotel to stay and the lake area you’ll just love it. It is so scenic one I just loved it.

Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t come back if it was free. The staff are brutal. They are sneaky and dishonest at check in. You plan a trip with kids to come to the pool and they wait until they have your money and signature then tell you “by the way the pool is down as of an hour ago but it will be available tomorrow after you checkout.” Direct quote. Then in a pet friendly room they call to threaten to kick you out. Brutal experience. Ruined my trip. Wish I could give less than one star but that’s the lowest.

This was our first time at White Point and we will be back! We loved our stay! Room was lovely, clean and roomy.

The service was amazing at the restaurant! However, the buffet was a bit of a hit or miss. Carving station was amazing and there was one delicious salad (Truffle Caesar!!) the rest was a bit sub par. I really love kale, beets and pecans but the salad that day was definitely a miss.

Only way I could have enjoyed this place more is if I was there with a group of friends. The restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast (best if you book a time versus just showing up). The live entertainment at night was great. Walking the beautiful beach was amazing. Lots of things to do on site. Staff were wonderful all around. I will definately go back but will be bringing friends. Five star all around.

It was wonderful to be able to watch the sunrise and listen to the crash of the waves on the beach every morning and be in such a relaxing environment. I really enjoyed the buffets they had in the dining room during my stay and the server I had both evenings was lovely. I stayed in a lakefront room and am looking forward to visiting again.

Over the family day weekend we spent a night at White Point. The service and atmosphere was great in the main lobby with the crackling fire. The 1 beer was extremely expensive ($10.50 plus a tip). The hotel room for the cost, well over $200 was not worth it. I felt like we were staying in a motel on an old highway.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at the White Point Beach Resort. Staff were so welcoming and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the various activities and didn’t want to leave!
Thank you for this lovely experience and we will come back!
