This resort itself is a little dated but the staff and setting were excellent! The front desk team is very helpful and professional. Just to call out one employee in particular … Olga was very helpful throughout my stay. She has a can-do attitude and seems to know every nook and cranny of the resort. The golf course is a visual treat: great lay out and extremely well maintained. Friendly, cheerful and helpful employees go a long way toward creating a great trip experience!By Greg Hammonds (6 months ago)We arrived Thursday at 1:00pm. We were told to self park and go check on our room availability. No luggage storage available. Proceeded to concierge and they indicated room would be ready closer to 3pm or 4pm. We were not told we could use the pool or other amenities. Checked back at 3pm and were told room was still not available. When I inquired about using the pool, the concierge person said “oh yeah I’m sorry we didn’t give you your check-in packet.” Went to the pool. Received a call at 4:05 pm with “bad news.” We were told there was a maintenance issue for our room and that the “part” would be ready first thing the next day but we would have to stay in a different room for the first night. Large party (6 of us and 1 child): huge inconvenience. Put in a tower with a special elevator code (not convenient for children or grandparents) but was told the first night would be comp’d (we shall see—otherwise I will have to contact my credit card company to initiate a dispute as I had already prepaid for 3 nights in advance). We were told to be “ready to go” the next day so that as soon as the next room was available we could be moved out because the “owner” was coming back to the unit we were being placed in the first night. So, we barely unpack (hard to do with a 4 year old), have breakfast and go to the pool. Our bags are packed and ready to go. We are in limbo and I call again at 11am after getting an automated message that we should “checkout” of our first room. Called concierge and tell them we are not moving again until the next room is ready. We wait until 2pm (“relaxing” by our unpacked bags “ready to go”) until I call concierge again. I tell them we have dinner reservations at 5pm so this inconvenience is turning into a huge problem. Suddenly a room is available and we have to move our luggage in the rain to a tower a 100 yards away.
Sorry to say this experience has been far from our previous stay here. Spoke with at least 2 other parties who were moved around multiple times during their stay here.
Not sure how management will observe and correct. Compensating for a night (again if it happens) is one thing but ruining a family vacation is something you can’t put a price tag on.
One star for beautiful location and views.
By Michael Mohseni (2 weeks ago)We have just arrived today. When I tried to turn on the TV this evening it did not work. I called the front desk. They were prompt in getting a technician to our room. John from engineering was amazing! He was patient, professional and very competent! What a great employee! It is people like John who make Hammock Resort and Spa the great place we had heard it was. Thanks, John!By Rita Randle (7 months ago)Hello,Went to a fund raiser for Open Door Re-entry and Recovery in the Ocean Ballroom in the beautiful Hammocks.
It was a full house. Plush decor, nice-clean rest rooms, ample-easy covered parking, very good food and service.
What else could you want, or need for your next community event?
I really should be paid for these kind of reviews. 🙂By Mark Anzalone (4 months ago)We stayed here over New Years and all I can say is WOW… what a show. Only thing to make the show better would be choreographed music to the fireworks. We had a 3 bedroom main tower room and it was the perfect amount of space for our family of 6. Pool complex was fabulous. Only one of the pools was heated outdoors but that was enough for us. Direct beach access was a bonus. Plenty of space to run and play for the kids. They even had kid activities during the day and night. Some did cost but it was minimal. Definitely worth checking out.By Karen Sverdlow (3 months ago)

Clean, private and enjoyable. Loved the up/down style of the villas which gave us plenty of room to spread out. The added feature of having a washer and dyer in the room allowed us to swim frequently and dry our beach attire. Tranquility pool was quiet and kid free which we enjoyed numerous times.
Loved having kitchen available so we could leisurely have a late breakfast, enjoy the day on our relaxed schedule. Conveniently located.
We did not try the resort restaurant as we wanted to taste local favors and favorites.
By Jennifer Pittroff (6 months ago)So for the past few years my family and I been going to the keys for Christmas. I was honestly little disappointed with this hotel . I picked this place base on all the nice reviews but I once I stay here I realize how they receive all the good reviews. They have a contest for the employees to push the clients into giving them good reviews. Base on my past experiences once you check In most hotels in the area offers little welcoming gifts to celebrate with us. I checked in at tranquility bay and I was offered nothing for our special holiday celebration. I was instead Given a form to sign explaining once I check out at 11 AM that my car needs to be checked out immediately or I will be charge me $50 an hour for parking. Other resorts are not so rigid about there parking policies and we are able to still use the amenities after checking out . Also there $56 resort fee. If you use the tiki bar they add 18% gratuity automatically to your check. If you wanted to make any purchases in the gift shop your only option is adding the charge to your room. The bedsheets are very comfortable . The hotel towels not very fluffy or soft . There are no robes in the rooms. The hotel rooms are clean and cozy like little houses. The rooms have there own balconies with chairs to sit. So I give this place 2.5 stars it’s between okay and good.By Jovan Eevee (4 months ago)Not a four-star hotel experience. The pool and grounds are very nice, however the room was extremely disappointing. The furniture was old, worn and uncomfortable. We had GIANT COCKROACHES in our room. Several lights didn’t work. Pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. Our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. The landscaping crew used extremely loud gas powered hedge trimmers and blowers ALL day long preventing our stay from being the least bit “tranquil.” If the rooms were renovated and cleaned and the landscapers used quieter, electric equipment, this could be a four-star hotel. The pictures of the rooms advertised by the hotel are NOT what you get.By Anne Penrosa (4 months ago)This is a very nice property, beautiful setting. If they are to make it really relaxing, they would have some rules (over sight) around placing stuff on pool/beach chairs for the day and leaving. It’s very hard to find a chair by the beach or pool as it’s first come first serve for the lazy fat people who leave stuff on chairs all day and leave no seating for others. Also, there is a kids pool vs. adult pool. Depending on your needs, it can be very difficult as you’ll need to walk across the campus to the kids pool and drag all your stuff. Very inconvenient. They claim to have upgraded me to the adult area (I wanted kids section) as they overbooked those rooms and screwed me. As I said, it’s a nice place but I won’t be coming back. For the price they charge, they have some service management issues on hand.By Sean Cuttler (3 weeks ago)from the moment we made reservations , Brian,Emily and Ava were all very informative ,helpful and friendly ,to checking out of this amazing resort everything was wonderful! Was an amazing stay and resort. Very nice and clean.. 20 steps from the beach. Only minor complaint was the water in the shower would take a while to drain. But its not really their fault.. With all of the sand thats gets into drain. Otherwise the staff from the front desk, to the beach staff were extremely friendly. Made us feel right at home. The rooftop bar drinks are very strong! Big plus. We didn’t get a chance to dine at the restaurant upstairs, but we walked through it and it looked very nice. Would highly recommend staying here! We will be back!
We had a decent time, but I will never stay here again…
PROS: 1. Awesome staff (especially Sonia with housekeeping) everyone is very friendly with the exception of the beach attendants and front door attendant (see CONS). 2. Beach access is awesome and easy. 3. Proximity to on the water activities is awesome as well no traveling required. 4. We had some issues with a leaking fridge and it was fixed very quickly.
CONS: 1. The place is so old, it looks like they’ve tried to fix things up and it’s a nice place, but there are only two elevators (maybe a 3rd? never saw it) but one was not working most of the time. There is a restaurant and apparently a pretty popular bar on the top two floors that bring all kinds of people into the tiny lobby and with one working elevator, it’s almost impossible to get your family to your room without waiting no less than 10 minutes.
2. The bar that is beach side has the worst customer service and even worse food. Our drinks were forgotten, the food was wrong and when it did come out correctly it was so overcooked it was almost burnt. The live music is awful (but not a big deal), but is so loud that we could hear every word from our 7th floor room.
3. The beach attendants didn’t seem at all interested in their job, but why would they, they automatically add gratuity to your on beach bill, but even if you give them a tip, it doesn’t keep them coming back, you have to hunt someone down to get a drink or food, or go get it yourself. At one point (later in the day) one attendant was even standing around talking to his friend who was smoking a joint and didn’t even think to tell his friend not to smoke it with families around.
4. There are some sort of front door attendants, I’m not sure what their job actually is, I don’t see valet parking or a sign for it. I was having issues with my large bag and not one of the two men standing there even looked up or offered to help, their job is what?
5. Lastly, the room doors are SO heavy that they slam shut, so be prepared to listen to doors slamming all hours of the night and in the morning… forget about sleeping in.
Had an amazing vacation with 8 girlfriends. Accommodations were great which allowed for us to all stay in 3 comfortable rooms close together. Service was on point, views were spectacular with 360 rooftop restaurant/ bar and amenities did not disappoint. Yoga on the beach, cabanas and beach chair reservations, water sport rentals, love music and plenty of great memories. Thank you Bellwether Beach Resort management and staff!
Our stay here was absolutely the best! It was a wonderful choice. Staff and amenities were superb. It was nice to have a restaurant selection on site. There was live music every day. And they have beach cabanas with service! We will be staying here again!
Be ware though, there parking lot of very, very tight especially if you have a large vehicle. They had a wedding on site during our stay and it was difficult to find a parking spot.
Had an absolutely wonderful stay! Thanks to Geoffrey he was able to plan and decorate for my son’s surprise birthday! Everyone were so nice and professionally and helped out in every and any way.
As far as the hotel, I would definitely recommend and stay again! It’s very clean and welcoming. We had lunch and dinner at both restaurants and both were an amazing experience. The beach was awesome and the view was breathtaking!! Love every moment!!
