We came here as it’s linked to the hotel we are staying in Tulum. Fairly nice place, although no towels or anything and staff weren’t very friendly. Would have been fine apart from we had to then pay 25% service which is just extortionate (and only had two drinks)! It wasn’t like they waited on us hand and foot. Top it off, you pay more to use card of course!

Also – not solely their fault but the beach clubs along here need to do something about the plastic pollution. Much of it is tourist waste and is all clogged up in the seaweed going in and out of the ocean. It’s not a nice place to be and is just sad when there is a lot of wealth going into this area.

It is painful for me to say this, but the experience that I had with the staff of this place needs to be shared.

I came in to inquire about renting the space for a private party. The owner was eager to help and assigned me an event planner. She was very eager to help in the beginning, being very attentive and nice and answering all my questions. She sent me a list of the food and drinks but after explaining that I would like to bring in outside catering she became not as helpful…

When I asked for an image of the floor plan she said she will send it to me in a few days. After waiting a week or so and not hearing from her I reached out to her again in which she told me she switched departments and sent me to the new event planner.

When I spoke to the new event planner she told me I could not have the hours that I wanted, which the previous event planner said I could. She said the party had to end at 7pm. This was a deal breaker for me.

I asked to speak with the owner that I met the day I came in to inquire about the space. I was told that she was in charge of renting the space and I could not talk to the owner.

I wanted to rent the space for half a day 11am-11pm and was quoted $4,000 usd. I was going to pay it.

The whole experience and conversations seemed very suspicious. Especially how abruptly the help I was receiving stopped when I mentioned I was going to bring outside catering. Come to realize, from reading the passed reviews of this place, that so many guests have been sick from the food!!!

I feel so sorry for the owner, I definitely got sabotage vibes.

We have been to this beach club during our stay in Tulum. The place has really high prices and they don’t even try to clean the beach from sargassum… No beach umbrellas and no cleaning of sun beds… They charge 100 MXN for a towel which is not even clean…

Akiin is a scam is all I can say. We were told that unlike many of the neighbouring beach clubs, there was no entrance fee or minimal consumption fee. Sounded good so figured we’d would settle here for the day and get some food and drinks. When ordering our 2nd drink, the waiter suddenly said it was a $50 USD minimum per person (far higher than most places) The waiter was rude and provided no explanation at all. Now given their prices, we probably would’ve spend that amount anyway, but how quickly they seem to have changed their policy was reason enough for us the skip the 2nd drink, leave cash for the 1st and walk out. Also interestingly enough, we were only two customers in the place and it’s quite a big place.. Lastly, the music is terribly loud in there and they had just 5 tracks playing on repeat constantly, most of which were remixes of one original so it felt like a loop playing over and over. After reading the many accounts of food poisoning in the reviews, I am honestly glad we didn’t stay..

This place is an absolute gem! A quiet oasis in an otherwise bustling area of Tulum. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The service is quick and friendly and the food and drinks were delicious! The daily yoga classes are in a beautiful setting with instructors who make the classes accessible regardless of your level of fitness. Though there beach clubs on either side, we didn’t notice any noise on the property. We stayed in a junior suite/plunge pool room and our patio was literally steps from the beautiful white sand beach. There are many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The spa service was wonderful and our room got a very thorough cleaning by Sofia each day!

    Location 📌

The Beach is located right in the middle of the hotels street. There are many restaurants and bars around, which is super convenient. No need to take a taxi, except if you want to go to El Pueblo or La Veleta. We did take bikes to go there but I wouldn’t recommend it 😅 the road is not very nice and quite long.

    Room 😴

Our room was amazing: big and very confortable with a great bathtub 😍, a small terrace at the front, another one at the back and a hammock, sofa area and a private terrace with sunbeds and a private jacuzzi. Just perfect! ☀️

My only suggestion? A better isolation for the main sliding doors 😬 the sea was quite agitated and it made A LOT of noise inside at night, even with the doors closed.

    Food 🥑

Breakfast was either at Ziggy’s or Fresco’s: two dishes and drinks included. Fresco’s had our preference, even if location was less nice than Ziggy’s. Food was tasty, lots of options of dishes, smoothies, fresh juices,… Vegetarian options as well.

    Staff 🙏

We found people very nice, polite and helpful. Communications with the hotel is through WhatsApp and super efficient! They let us stay for a late check out without any additional charge, which was much appreciated 😌

Only downside was the cleaning lady who forgot many times to refill the room (minibar, coffee, incense, candles, bath salt, etc.). But again, this was quickly taken care of by the management.

Any other comment? Getting proper bikes 🤣 Riding with a bike with breaks through the pedals, no lights and no gears was no fun (and often dangerous, tbh).

Anyway, our experience was great and I strongly recommend this hotel for people looking for a quiet, relax place and premium service👍❤️

Heaven on earth! My wife and I had an absolutely perfect stay, and we highly recommend The Beach Tulum. It is expensive, but this is one of the rare instances where a hotel is absolutely worth the cost. The staff is incredible, and everyone is friendly and responsive. The hotel uses WhatsApp, and everyone responds quickly and is ready to address every request. The spa was wonderful, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our spa trip was memorable including a surprise of chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. You have a private day bed on the beach, and the sand and beachfront is immaculate. Yoga in the morning, breakfast in your room or at the restaurant, bikes to borrow, and a delicious cocktail at the perfect moment are just a few of the many things that set the hotel apart. I’m not sure what more I can say, other than we will recommend The Beach Tulum to every friend looking for a perfect stay in Tulum.

Incredible experience. Our room was extremely clean. The layout of each room is ideal for privacy. The staff is helpful and friendly. It was our first time in Mexico at a smaller boutique hotel but they offer everything a larger hotel has plus personalized service. They booked our car service and a boat tour including the taxi that took us to the marina for our tour. We had to leave early going home and they prepared snacks for us to enjoy on the road back to cancun airport. We wanted a quiet getaway in paradise and it truly was the everything we had hoped for.

First time visiting Tulum, and I am so glad we decided to stay at this resort. When we first arrived, we were greeted and welcomed by the staff. They explained all the amenities to us and made sure we were settled in. Rooms are WONDERFUL. The view is amazing and it’s great hearing the ocean as you sleep. Room service was amazing. Both restaurants (Ziggy’s and Frescos) were great! Location is very convenient— it is within walking distance of many popular restaurants. We felt very safe and secure. Entire staff was friendly. I cannot say enough good things about this place and hope to visit again!

  1. Loved this beach club. We came mid week and had front row beach bed. The beach is quiet because it is private and very relaxing. It was only $20USD pp minimum spend to use the facilities, which was easily covered with food and drink. The pool is nice and the music wasn’t playing too loudly. Was a relaxing day.

  2. Where do I even begin? We hosted our 70 person wedding on this property and EVERY single person was blown away and fell in love with this property. The staff is friendly, the rooms are beautiful and the food is DELICIOUS.

As the bride, I cannot say enough good things about my experience. From the moment we arrived I felt so special and spoiled. The staff took such great care of all my family and friends, it truly warmed my heart. A huge thank you to Paola and Eugenio and their teams who worked tirelessly to make sure our weekend was extra special. PPP has a huge place in our heart and we cannot wait to return! ❤️

  3. Massive rip off. We had a table with friends and they charged us for the wrong admission and instead of rectifying that wanted to charge us more. Not to mention money kept disappearing off our “prepaid credit wristbands” without buying anything. And random transaction fees we weren’t told about (no, not exchange rates but literally random amounts that changed each time). Stay away. Literally a huge waste of a Saturday night and a waste of money. Zero customer service and water is $10/bottle. The music also sucked. Gotta say not a single positive thing to say about this place and I was absolutely ripped off. Poorly run too. Literally the only bad experience I had in Tulum, so I’m not even being picky.

  4. We didn’t stay at PPP hotel but came here to spend the day at their beach club and we loved it! Everything was perfect; the staff was very attentive and nice. The food was delicious and the cocktails were great. The background music was not crazy loud like at some of the other Tulum beach clubs and we also liked that! Total relaxation 👌🏼

  5. It was a fun resort to kick off our trip. There’s a lot going on here, with events organized each night. They have a party on Saturday night and family event on Sunday’s. The rooms are build with sustainable materials so don’t expect every thing to be finished perfectly. The staff are really friendly and provide great tips. The restaurant has good food so you can stay at the resort the whole time but there are plenty of options when you go to the downtown area. Vironique and Daniel were great at the hotel.
