  My family of four adults and a toddler took our first family vacation after two years of the pandemic. We stayed at the Royal level in the Occidental Xcaret Hotel, for your full disclosure it is our second time in this hotel and the first time staying Royal level. I want to start this review by thanking the concierge young front desk ladies for replying promptly to all our inquiries, and secondly to Max, Albert, Rafa, and the entire team and the Royal level restaurant for treating us with professionalism and respect during our interaction at every meal. During our 7 days at this resort, we got to enjoy the beautiful royal-level pool and jacuzzi, we valued walking the property day and night and observing the lush wildlife and majestic ruins meticulously cared for. We visited the beach that had pristine waters and played for hours with our toddler son, the Ocean photography team took wonderful family photos that we purchased. We also enjoyed a couple’s spa that I reviewed in a separate Google review that was worse every moment, thank you, Rubi & Maribel. I want to also thank the bellboys for assisting us with our luggage and getting our taxi service promptly when we would travel outside the resort. I want to thank our Occidental transportation service for the prompt and comfortable round-trip service, both drivers made our ride amenable with pleasant conversation. Lastly, the entertainment at the resort was wonderful and I encourage all to attend at least one show, the talent of these performers should be highlighted. I end this review with the words of our concierge front lady at our 8 a.m. check out “You will always be Royal because you carry that in your heart”

  My family vacation to this hotel was one of the best experiences we’ve had in a very long time. Every single person we ran into spoke both English and Spanish fluently, which was great because they always understood our needs. The shows were fantastic. There was so much to see and such great entertainment. The amenities were more than enough to keep my toddler and every adult entertained for the entirety of 7 days. The views are amazing, and the staff makes the stay so pleasant and relaxing. I highly recommend this resort, and I hope I get to return soon.

  My experience here was awesome. It is a large resort, jungle atmosphere with tame animals throughout, monkeys, deer, lizards of all sizes, etc. The service was great. My room was clean and spacious enough. The food at the different restaurants was very good. Although the buffets provided plenty to eat, the food was rather bland. The evening entertainment was great from the lobby singer to the shows I attended. I would recommend this resort for a relaxing vacation.

  The restaurants were booked and required reservations, even though they state that it’s all inclusive. The staff barely spoke English and didn’t understand what you were asking.

  The reason that I am giving the experience 5 stars has everything to do with the server that we were lucky to end up with our first night there. We ended up having him wait on us the entire time we stayed at the hotel.

  He worked his tail off to make sure that we had everything we needed at dinner. He went above and beyond and should be commended for his amazing service. If you’re ever at Occidental, make sure you go to the taco restaurant (one of the few that doesn’t require a reservation) and ask for Rigoberto.

  He’s fantastic and truly turned a less than ideal experience into one in which we will never forget. His kindness and willingness to accommodate our food needs made him the best employee at the hotel.

  The resort is beautiful, they have everything to enjoy your stay. They have wild life around the resort. You will see monkeys, deer, birds, and lizards. I came with a family of 9. Only one child of 10 so I decided to take him to the kids club. He was hesitant at first because they had younger kids but they take kids up to 12 years old and he was really happy to be there. They have activities for them and Yasmin really took good care of him and entertained him. I definitely recommend this place. Lots of things to do for kids and adults.

  What a great experience & prefect holiday destination!

  The hotel was second to none, the rooms were clean and spacious. The staff at the resort could not have been more accommodating & friendly. They could not do enough for you.

  I wish to give a special mention to Javier who works at the colonial breakfast buffet (omelette counter). Javier cooked me a ‘chefs special’ breakfast dish every single morning. Every dish was different and all of which were nothing less than delicious. He was an amazing gentleman who clearly had passion for both his cooking and taking care of the customers. Javier made our experience of stopping in this resort a more memorable one and I will certainly not forget his kindness & his delicious food.

  I also want to provide a special mention to Marco, the bell boy from white sands, he provided us with a ‘VIP service’ as he would say and was very kind and courteous when transporting us around the complex.

  In summary, I would seriously recommend anyone to stay at anyone of the grand palladium’s resorts. This being as you spend a lot of time at each of them when travelling to the variety of bars, restaurants & pools.

  We had a wonderful stay here! The resort, food, beach, and spa were great. Staff are very friendly and service quality is very nice. We also enjoyed the food here; lots of ripe fruit, salmon, etc at the breakfast buffet and the dinner restaurants were great too. Of you are a fan of octopus, we had a great dish at Poseidon.

  Special thank you to Christian and Irvin at the White Sands lobby bar. They make AMAZING coffee and delicious cocktails and are just a pleasure to talk to.

  This was our favorite resort in Mexico that we’ve been to so far, and we’ve been traveling to the Cancun/Riviera Maya region for over 10 years. We would happily come back!

  Ernesto, Adela and Victor were absolutely amazing at the travel club. They were literally the reason our vacation became the best one we have ever had. We spent most of our days at the cabana and they were all so attentive and accommodating. The drinks kept coming, everything was clean and we even got most of our lunches there because it was near impossible to leave. 10/10 service, best money ever spent. Definition of relaxation and mental recharge.

  We have just spent ten days at the Grand Palladium in Mayan Riviera. This is a superb resort. We really appreciated being in a small villa, with greenery all around us. The service all round was excellent. Check in and check out was very smooth. We received calls regularly to make ensure that we were happy and that our needs were taken care of. When we had some minor issues, staff was very responsive and responded very quickly. There was a lot of walking between areas, but we were fine with that — built in regular exercise. However, if we were tired and preferred a shuttle, we never had to wait long. Rooms were clean and well maintained. We enjoyed watching birds from our balcony, and we enjoyed spotting wildlife and birds while walking on the grounds. The walkways that were built through the mangroves are very well built and designed. The large pool area works like a small community — there is something for everybody. And usually you could get lounge chairs, choosing between sun and shade. And there are lots of activities every day that you can participate in!

  The breakfast and lunch buffets were superb. Definitely something for everyone. Amazing selection! We did find sometimes that staff in the buffet restaurants took a while to respond to requests for water, tea and coffee. However the hosts were excellent — Jenny in particular. The a la carte restaurants were amazing! Great variety, themes, food, selection, presentation and service! I also appreciated that in general the portions were usually not too large — who needs huge amounts, and who wants to waste food Staff was superb! I wish I could remember more of the names. However, we did go to the Lola restaurant twice and both times Florencia and Luis went out of their way to care for our needs.

  The beach area is beautiful. However, it was often windy, and there are rocks at the beginning, a deterrent to wading. But there were always lots of lounge chairs available.

  The evening entertainment was superb. Once again, so much talent and creativity. We really appreciated the Mexico shows, and other dancing shows.

  My wife and I arrived on Tuesday and everyday has been amazing. Every member of staff has greeted me with a smile and if I needed anything made sure I got it. I especially would like to thank Eduardo, the bar tender. He talked with my wife and I and laughed and made us feel very comfortable. The drinks were amazing and he was a joy to meet. The food everywhere at all restaurants were 100% amazing. The only thing I’d suggest is for room service to have the food to match the restaurant food. It wasn’t as good. The food in the restaurant was delicious from beginning to end. The entertainment was so much fun. The music, the dancing and everything. Thank you for making our honeymoon awesome.
