  1. We stayed at Royal Lahaina Resort for our honeymoon in July 2022. The hotel itself was beautiful. The valet guys & bellhops were very friendly. The room was not the cleanest. The front desk appeared to be short staffed. As a result, they were not very friendly and helpful. We had an incident with our hotel neighbor. They were playing loud music in the balcony & smoking weeds. They also became super aggressive after I asked them politely to stop doing that. The hotel did move us to a different room but after we reported it over five times. Even then, the front desk’s attitude could’ve been more professional and kinder.

For $700 per night (after resort fee, tax, etc), we expected to get a better service and a cleaner hotel room.

On the other hand, the Luau was amazing! Food wasn’t the best but it didn’t matter that much to us. We had a great time.

I hope that they hire more people who are kind and passionate about helping others for the front desk.

  2. Stayed here for a few days for a holiday. The weather was beautiful, the locals say it one of their driest Autumn season. The location was superb. It was beach front and 10 minute drive to the main strip in Lahaina. They have good facilities such as a restaurant, two pools, spa, gym, and an ice cream shop which I definitely recommend. The room we stayed in was in the tower’s lower floors. It was nice and clean. The bathroom is a bit small and the decor was outdated but otherwise it was nice and clean, beds were comfortable. The TV was a bit small and old but okay otherwise. Staff were friendly and helpful but I do feel they need more people in the front desk as I noticed it was a bit of a wait to enquire, or check in and out. They also have a shuttle service hourly to go to the outlets which is near the main strip. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay again.

  3. Overall we had a great stay. The Staff, especially at the restaurant, was awesome – always happy, cheerful, helpful! The views were awesome.

We stayed in a bungalow which overlooked the ocean and right on the golf coast. Good size, furniture was just right. My only complaint was the carpet was dirty. Not it needs a vacuuming, but stained and dirty like it had not been cleaned in a long time.

We had a great time overall.

  4. Incredible place. My husband and I spent the greater part of our honeymoon here and it was well spent! It’s very close to Front Street, has a beautiful private beach and great service. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Honestly. Everything from the luau to the food to the SPA: *chefs kiss* these people really do deserve a five star review. If you get to come here: DO go to the spa. Those ladies are incredible and know what they’re doing. 10/10 recommend and would do again!

  5. Had a great trip, much of which could be attributed to the staff at Royal Lahaina Resort. We had a cottage and it was excellent except it needs a power updating. It was difficult recharging phones and other electronics Also I found it strange that there was only one chair for a double room. We borrowed one from our lanai. One set of toiletries as well. What was exceptional was all of the staff. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and around to help at all times. That includes the spa, trading store, dining personnel (just awesome) and everyone else. This place has a few neighboring resorts, but it had the closest and best beach. Maybe they should share more about history and the tree with lanterns, which is romantic and beautiful. Did not attend the luau. More than just great!

Awesome property to stay. Hyatt is so generous to its customers. I highly recommend their hotel statuses which can get you a nicer room if available. Many activities at this location. We loved the free morning yoga at the Napili gardens. Staff is super friendly. Japengo’s food is awesome and do an early reservation; and to the Pacific drums of Luau.

This is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a scheduled power outage on our first full day, which was communicated ahead of time. I felt that they did a good job with that. We had Club access, and for us, it definitely wasn’t worth the extra cost. The eggs were powdered, but to be fair, that was the case at the regular buffet as well. We enjoyed the pools and access to the beach, with snorkeling right there. We attended the luau, which I would NOT recommend. The show was decent, but the food was sub-par.

Not bad. This is a kid friendly hotel. Not really a resort. None of the restaurants open till 5 so if you have kids and like bar snack food for lunch make plans elsewhere. Pricey of course for convenience. Pool is set up weird not hand rails in the 4foot deep side to get out. Floaties cost $10 so bring your own. The kids side has a gravel bottom which was hard on your feet so wear swim shoes if you’ll be on that side. The shared beach walk is the only way to get from one end of the pool to the other without actually being in the pool. It gets Super hot during the day so common theme is wear swim shoes. It is a fresh water pool though. Lots if nuts on the beach and the waves make them hit each other, it’s kind of a cool sound. Tide can be a bit strong at times so no ideal for younger children. Again, swim shoes. Overall make reservations if you want to eat here. Mid day is hot and you’ll get a sun burn, and enjoy your time. It is in a good location and whalers village is about a 17min walk up the path.

This by far is the best resort we have ever stayed at. Views from our room were exceptional. And the remodeled rooms were better than expected. Grounds at the Hyatt were lush and well kept. Hotel is in excellent condition considering it was built maybe in the 60’s? Excellent condition! Employees were very professional and helpful, we loved them. Food was very good and had 3 restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was first class at the Swan Restaurant. We cannot say enough about our stay at the Hyatt Regency Resort. It was exceptional and we loved it. Highly recommend!

The resort and staff were great! We had an incredible time between the pool, the location is right along the ocean shore making boardwalk access easy, food was great, the spa was decent, and the location was easy to get to for other activities we had planned. If you have a chance go on a property nature tour. One of the highlights of our trip and I wouldn’t have expected to enjoy that as much as I did! Thanks for having us and we’ll definitely be back in the future!

This is a really great hotel. I love the pools! The room was great. The bed was very comfortable, just like home! My only complaint, and the reason for a four-star rather than a five-star rating, would be paying $8.55 Canadian ($625 US) for a brewed cup of coffee. I feel like coffee should never cost that much. I know prices have gone up, but that’s a little ridiculous. Other than that, awesome place to go!

We loved our stay at the Hyatt Residence Club! We had a two-bedroom unit which comfortably slept 5 of us. We could have slept at least 1 more with the two pull out beds. The views were amazing, the pools were beautiful and the staff was always friendly and happy to help. We could walk down to Whaler’s Village for food and shopping. The only downside is the beach there is not a sandy beach that you can lounge on. The water comes right up to the grass. You can walk along the sand but there weren’t really any places to put down a towel to lay on a beach. That wasn’t an issue because we liked beach hopping around the island. Overall, we LOVED our stay here and will be back!

First time I’ve ever been to the Hawaiian islands and we traded our Hyatt ocean view time share elsewhere and purchased additional time to make it possible. I can’t even put into words how disappointed and cheated I feel. We got to our room, which we were told was NOT ocean view the week before our stay. We entered our room and for a moment, forgot about the ocean view until I opened the beautiful lanai full wall glass doors. I was immediately shocked as to the noise level and the so called Mountain View which was of the parking lot and main highway, beeping auto doors locking, roosters crowing, and traffic. After trying the local restaurants recommended by the concierge, we went to a market and bought groceries. The food was very expensive and very mediocre. Pool was crowded with tons of kids. Don’t think we will be back

The grounds are beautiful and right off of Ka’anapali Beach. Plenty of things to do and so close to Lahaina. There are plenty of places to eat.
The pool is gorgeous!! My kiddo absolutely loved the waterfalls and the slides.
I will warn people that there is a daily resort fee of about $45 that you pay upon checkout. We also took a good look at our bill and discount that there was a pool towel fee (which they charge if you don’t return towels) even though we stayed on top of returning our towels daily. They took it off when we inquired…. I just want to make sure people are aware.

The Hyatt is a luxury class hotel resort that supposedly offers a lot, restaurants, bars, decent rooms, grand (and very artificial) landscape, animals on site, a conference area.

I was there for a conference and spent close to a week in the hotel. Overall, everything was fine, but considering the price – underwhelming.

Breakfast was steeply priced at $40 but all-in-all a regular buffet with decent assortments; nothing special or out of the ordinary. Few fruits, some varieties of eggs, little vegetarian options. Barely any fish …. (Strange for a place like Maui) this impression was met by all encounters with food at this place…. Nice, but underwhelming.

The vicinity is outstanding, of course; it is and remains Maui, HI. The landscape within the hotel was very artificial though. Birds – like parrots and even penguins – are kept in cages or small areas – felt like a weird and sad picture.

The conference was on site, but the rooms and accessories were from the early 2000s. No audio equipment, projector images were so small, they were only readable from the first row. the entire business area was dark and depressing.
