We had wonderful days in this beautiful hotel complex on the beach road.
Particularly noteworthy is the exceptional quality of the entire facility, especially the sanitary facilities, the extreme cleanliness, the rooms were always carefully maintained, bed linen top, towels super large and always fresh, used shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and balm were always replaced.
The hosts Olga and Aki are extremely cordial, the entire staff is always in a good mood, whether at the reception, bar, kitchen or at the breakfast buffet.
The breakfast is a highlight, varied, always of the best quality. Rarely get such good scrambled eggs at a hotel buffet, perfect fried eggs, occasionally porridge or always warm or cold small snacks, such as avocado bruschetta or stuffed zucchini blossoms, but also pancakes with many options for the filling (e.g. chocolate cream), fresh fruit, yoghurt, honey , etc. and of course bite-sized pieces of cake, croissants etc. At the bar you can also get freshly squeeze oranges or have a Greek coffee prepared.

Location was fine, two minutes to a supermarket, three minutes to a bakery and five to the heart of the town. Excellent location – walking distance from everything (beaches, shops, restaurants, etc.). Breakfast was quite nice, light but all fresh! Nice pool right by the rooms; usually with seats available. Very helpful front desk staff, who speak excellent English. I highly recommand it. Perfect for people who want to have a relaxing time, for couples or friends who want to be away from the crowds and have a retreat of their own. The showers have good pressure with hot and cold water. The breakfast is amazing, fresh orange juice with a selection of healthy fresh bread and local /international produce.The rooftop is a nice addition to hangout and relax and enjoy the views. I also enjoyed the vinyl collection in the lobby with comfortable sofas to relax in. The outside garden areas are stunning too. The cats are part of the island and do not bother guests at all. Comfortable accommodations in a remarkable place. Staying here allowed us to experience Elafonisi Beach both in the late afternoon/evening and early morning when there were only a few people. The staff at the resort were friendly and the rooms were very clean. I wish I had booked a room for 3 or 4 days instead of just one. Next time I will.
It’s not really a ‘resort’. You just get a room with a bed and bath room, nothing more. Our view from a shared, small terrace was very limited: just olive trees. A request for laundry service was rejected. There is literally nothing around, besides the beach, two restaurants and an overpriced small supermarket (and as mentioned, you don’t have a kitchenette or anything like kitchen tools). Boths restaurants are like a standard Greek tavern. In the one from the ‘resort’, some things were very tasty, some were not (the fries smelled like too old frying fat). I reccomend to stay here for maximum one night.
Elafonisi Resort, run by the Kalomirakis family, is one of the few hotel businesses located on the main road leading down to the beach in Elafonisi, which does not have many accommodation options. I can say that the distance to the beach is about 1 km on average. Since the region is an underdeveloped natural place, we did not expect much from our room where we would stay for one night, but they still could not meet our expectations in terms of room.
Our room had two single beds. We had to combine it and it was inconvenient. When I wanted to boil water for the coffee I brought with me, I saw that the inside of the kettle was completely lime. The bathroom and balcony were also not cleaned enough. There was beach sand scattered by those who stayed before us…
Apart from the room, the operators of the hotel were very polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel has a roof that you can easily climb to watch the view of Elafonisi and has a nice restaurant where you can dine while enjoying the sunset view. Although we found the waiter who took care of us unprofessional and rude, we were quite satisfied with the food. Even if you are staying elsewhere, you can choose this restaurant for food.
I recently stayed at a wonderful hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the necessary amenities. The staff were friendly and attentive, always willing to help with any requests or questions. The hotel’s location was also fantastic, with easy access to nearby attractions and restaurants. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.
Had a gorgeous stay at this beautiful property. Our room with kitchen was large and had a great deck overlooking the olive grove. The wifi was super fast and the room had multiple tables to catch up on a little work. There’s adorable cats on the property and sweet singing birds. A mini mart is within easy walking distance. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Our room was perfectly clean. There’s construction happening across the street but it didn’t impact our stay.
The road to this area of Crete is winding and has lots of one lane sections. You’ll want to hire a driver if you’re not excellent with a stick shift and hills.
