  Our first all inclusive experience and it was great! Gorgeous resort, friendly stuff, delicious food in buffet and restaurants. A variety of food for people with completely different tastes. The only thing that could be improved is the salads in the buffet and since this is not the part of Mexican food I can understand why they were average in taste. Other than that everything was excellent.

  Also, special thanks to Antonio Fernandez in the Japanese restaurant for the great show!

  In general, the hotel, pool and beach are always clean, our room was checked and cleaned every single day. The drinks were great, especially in the restaurants.

  My husband and I came here for a 10 night stay for our honeymoon and WOW the disappointment. We will NOT be returning.

  Yes the rooms and pools are beautiful but it’s the most boring resort we have ever been to. Bars close super early. No music anywhere except for one pool bar that’s usually over crowded. No nightlife except some music played by the lobby every night.

  If your a foodie like myself (NOT the resort for you). There’s only one buffet to eat from throughout the day… which isn’t the best and some gourmet restaurants to choose from.. but if your not a fan of the restaurants you have no other choice to eat dinner for the week.

  Room service serves cold food… and when we call asking for water or anything to be delivered , we wait over an hour and a half…

  We stayed at the adults only in the premium section and we’re not pleased.

  I had to switch rooms due to the fact that they were holding some sort of conference with 100’s of people.. and many men of which just stared into my private premium pool which made me SUPER uncomfortable. Some of which made absolutely repulsive comments towards me while my husband was inside.

  When I brought this up to the premium section supervisor she did move my room and upgraded us , however I did not get an apology and she just smiled and nodded as if I was telling her how my day was going.. not to mention there was a man from the conference profusely throwing up in the lobby, and no one did anything for the man. Absolutely disgusting. Not what to expect from a “luxury resort”.

  We just returned from our stay at Adults Only for our honeymoon and had a fabulous time. We were also there during my husbands birthday a d the resort gave us several complimentary treats to celebrate both occasions. The room was Cindy and clean and the hot tub on the patio was perfect to relax in. Service was prompt and all of the staff were kind a s friendly. We enjoyed the buffets, the lobby bar, and the restaurants. Specifically we enjoyed the French and Japanese restaurants the most. The entire resort is clean and the pool relaxing.

  I have traveled to many countries and can say this is the best resort I have stayed at. The resort is spacious, beautiful, and over the top wonderful. The service and staff are unparalleled. Everyone is very friendly and seem like they genuinely want you to have a good time going out of their way to serve you. I was blown away in every regard. The food is the best I’ve had at a resort- even the buffet is fabulous. I have not had good experience with buffets and have often gotten sick from food at resorts and drinking the served water. However, at this resort I have not gotten sick at all. High quality everything. You will be blown away. We just had dinner at Agave, the Mexican restaurant and our servers Elena and Eliseo were 11/10 – fantastic service. This staff is top notch and deserve a raise. I will recommend this resort to everyone!!

  My wife and I have been to plenty of resorts in Mexico, I can officially say I found one that is beyond amazing!
  -Entertainment staff was amazing
  -Buffet food is good, they have a lot of options for everyone( even vegan ice cream)
  -Japanese Restaurant was our favorite
  -Agave was great very flavorful
  -Italian was also good,
  We did not get a chance to try the French but it looked good and it was always full!
  The rooms were just beyond clean, the grounds were well kept, workers worked around the clock cleaning everyday.
  Our favorite part was the bed, it is HUGE and super Comfortable .
  If you want a great resort to stay at, I would recommend this place 100 times over to anyone that asked. Thank you all and we will be back shortly for another amazing vacation at Barcelo!

  Hands down the BEST resort! We have been here 6 times now, each time but one, our stays have been for two weeks! The staff are excellent and friendly. They go above and beyond to make you happy! Rooms are spotless, service is spot on! I’m writing this review half way through our latest stay:)

  The facility is a bit outdated but comfortable. We slept well in the bed and enjoyed the pools. The best part is snorkelling. It is nothing amazing but seeing schools of fish just off shore of the hotel is pleasant.

  However, we were not happy with the guest service. We booked restaurants upon arrival and it was smooth, but when we tried to make a change of the reservation we were first told it could not be done over the phone and it had to be in person. We went to the guest service office and the lady, Laura Dominiguez, was with a guest trying to book for 9 other people who were not present and later found out did not even have booking cards ( the cards to allow guests booking restaurants since the number of booking depends on the length of the stay). She made us wait more than 40 min while no one else was there to help. While she continued booking for people who were not supposed to book, we asked whether anyone else could help. She told us to go to the neighbouring hotel for help. It was frustrating that Laura never cared to find help but just rudely brushed us off. And when we went to the other guest service office, it was empty with no one working.

  We go for a resort vacation every year and not foreign with wait time during busy time and high season, but it was not this frustrating since it did not feel they cared.

  All the activities are great! There are staff who organize games of all kinds. They are upbeat, and try hard to ensure everyone is having fun. Gigi in particular was very friendly and accommodating.

  The food is great, especially the a la carte restaurants. The grounds are gorgeous, and immaculately tended. I love how the buildings are separated by greenery. Doesn’t feel at all like the typical hotel at home which is exactly what we like.

  Very very nice facility clean and each building fantastic, all the stuff very friendly and kinds also every night the show are fantastic the dancers, and the singers so unique. If every one wants to book this resort should come over and try it out and you guys never ever disappoint. Good food and good dinner etc. We came here every year and love this resorts

  We came here as repetitive clients. We also choose to pay premium. Now that our kids are above 12 the premium for them is the same as adults. However they don’t get Premium treatment. They don’t get daily access to hydrotherapy; no special drinks or arcade access….
  We booked massage and 1 hydrotherapy is included with the service, they tried to steal my son from 50 min massage! Good thing we were there as parent to monitored; they walked him right in the hydrotherapy areas after…
  We had to go back to counter and get them to re-schedule his other 50 min massage only available the next day!
  The next day arrived and now he is declined hydrotherapy…? What kind of rule or policy is that?
  Our son is 17 going on 18 and 6”3’ and Mature. No exceptions were made. Manager have no skills to handle special request.
  They police access to hydrotherapy at the spa telling us that they do so to maintain calm environment; however groups have f adults are allowed to come and have loud conversations from one area to the other…
  To say the least; disappointing; making no sense.
  They definitely have lost us as clients!
