  1. This is a review for the restaurant, not the hotel. DON’T have dinner here. You are going to pay at least 400€ for two persons (no drinks) and the food is “meh” to downright terrible. Very slow between courses and food arrives almost cold. The spices are lacking and there is no “pop” to the tastes. My fish was overcooked and tough. My wife’s lamb dish was cold. The setting is stunning, but that’s all this place has going for it.

  2. Grotta Palazzese is a unique and stunning dining experience located in the small town of Polignano a Mare in Southern Italy. The restaurant is situated inside a natural cave overlooking the Adriatic Sea, offering guests breathtaking views and an unforgettable ambiance.

The cave itself is a sight to behold, with its rocky walls and sparkling blue waters, and the restaurant has been designed to complement its natural beauty. The tables are elegantly set, and the lighting is kept low to enhance the atmosphere. The overall effect is nothing short of magical.

  3. Only went to the restaurant & the food is really is as bad as they say. Chewy, tough, overcooked seafood, the most disgusting pasta I have ever had … so so disappointing…. Food is a complete rip off & shameful given the wonderful chef’s & restaurants beside the grotto. The location is amazing. Staff were nice & professional – I felt sorry for them having to serve this food.

  4. Absolute awful and a complete tourist rip-off, try to avoid. You can get nice pictures elsewhere. They charge €200 per person for very average food and bad service. They have no flexibility with the food menu, they only have set taste menus and your partner needs to choose what you choose.

  5. Location is spectacular as all Instagram pictures show, but that’s it!! very overpriced for very mediocre food. Scallops were too salty and the seabass very bland. Not sure how they find such poor chiefs in Italy. One of the most disappointing meals we have had in Italy. And we visit a lot

Spent a week here in early October and had a great time. Service was absolutely brilliant. Everyone in the hotel was helpful and so friendly. Also gave us good advice on where to go in the area to visit different places. The food was very good too with a nice variety of different things for each meal and also a different special each night. The rooms are clean, pool area is clean and bar and restaurant too. The hotel is right on the beach so easy to go and chill on the sand. Although this beach didn’t have the best spot for swimming because of the rocks. No problem for some but maybe not others. I didn’t realize that the entertainment stops in October for the end of high season. Makes sense but if you’re going expecting that just be aware you will probably need to plan other things to do and go elsewhere for evenings. Overall good place for a chill out and good food, but definitely plan to visit some other places in the area.

Very nice resort, food quality and quantity was excellent thumbs up for the chef, good location, very clean… the only negative point is the Wi-Fi very weak almost doesn’t exist, not present at all in the room, Needs to be improved .

Fantastic two week stay at this resort. Staff wonderful through all disciplines. All inclusive package was well worth the money. The food in the restaurant was first class and our meal at the Pugliese restaurant was even better if that were possible. Special thanks to Nico the restaurant manager who runs a great catering service and his very friendly and helpful team. The resort is kept well maintained and spotlessly clean

Facilities good, accommodation good, pay extra for seaview & quiet & you may escape the excessive volume of the outdoor entertainment. Everything very clean & gardens tidy. Good for families with small children as plenty to do. Again the evening entertainment very very loud so may not be ideal for babies

Clean with great staff!! This is definitely the worst all inclusive we have been to for food..had better school dinners…flavourless! Prosecco, wine and beer where given in thimble size glasses unless you’re a paying at the bar guest!!
When you read at the hotel what you’re all inclusive entitlements are….its really miserable!! Entertainment is diabolical as well….if you’re thinking of going to that area find a nice BnB, there’s plenty of them in Polignano a mare.

Very disappointed with the lack of empathy from this hotel, I booked this 17/12 and had to cancel a month later 17/1 due to family illness which I supplied proof and gave 6 months notice of cancellation which I’m sure they have already rebooked the rooms, the refused to give me a refund, offered a credit for 12 months which i mentioned at the time we wouldn’t be returning any time soon. Very upsetting as nothing could be done to help me in my situation, where other hotels through Europe were able to help me considering the ample notice I had given.

Value for money ok. But overall cleaniness and professionalism are lacking. Very close to highway so noisy surroundings. Towels are already old. Air conditioning is noisy too. If you could make tea/coffee in the room it would be nice, as it has become a standard for 4 stars hotel. Bad wifi. Breakfast not wow at all.

The facilities are good here in terms of the modern decor, the two pools, the dining terrace, and the tennis courts. It’s also a very clean hotel so credit to the cleaning staff. What’s more, the waiting staff are exceptionally attentive – especially the older gentleman with white hair and black rimmed glasses and the young lad with slightly curly hair – the two of them simply couldn’t do enough for us and were cheery, polite and friendly throughout. However, the lady with the black bob haircut and glasses on Reception was not good. She gave us a very cold welcome upon our arrival and was hostile when we asked if she could arrange a cab to the airport for our last day. She quoted us €120 and said the only possible pickup time was an hour earlier than we wanted. When we asked if she could try other cab firms, she flatly said ‘No, that’s not possible’ before handing us some cards for others. When we phoned one, they immediately said yes to our requested time and quoted us just €85. In addition, the WiFi at this hotel was very poor on my phone for the duration of our stay. It’s also worth noting that the tuk tuk drivers that the hotel use when you request a ride into town or somewhere are not reliable. On both occasions they were 10 minutes late and one of them even gave us the wrong directions for the bus stop dropping us over a mile from it – meaning we missed our excursion! Lastly, we were pretty disappointed that our bathroom did not include a shower, just a shower head with fluctuating pressure that you have to hold over yourself and it was a bit annoying that they don’t offer a laundry service. It’s a shame that there are a number of issues because some of the staff are great here and the hotel itself is nice.

Very nice hotel, big rooms, very clean. 2 pools
Food quality good, but unflexible staff, no possibility to open existing gate to let clients use the much shorter way to the beach. Friendliness is not top priority of their service.
Could be so easy to act with a little smile.

Very pretty place with very good swimming pool size for all ages and swimming advancement – clean sourroundings and a lot of space and distance between other pool users.

Clean and simple garden with wide and simple pathways.

Houses/rooms are of good size, modern bathroom with shower, but large and clean. Great that are equipped with AC, as the region is very hot and when you in the room you need a bit of cool air.

Breakfast simple, but a lot of classic Italian food like ham, salami, mozzarella and bakery. Great cappuccino.

If you drive than there is enough parking space, so the car is kept safe.

Overall, very good choice for your holiday accommodation with/without family where you are able to enjoy a lot of sun and good food. Highly recommended!!!

To add, some food in restaurants we found over-priced, but Italian food is tasty.
