Came during March and everything about the resort was beautiful: the atmosphere, the amenities, restaurant and rooms. Personally, I could live without the heavy scents sprayed around the lobby but I suppose others enjoy it. Our room had a lake view and it was beautiful. Very clean and modern and a sliding door so you can see the lake while you shower. The gym is decked out like a full commercial gym and the game room was a great hangout for my kids. The restaurant is very nice and was buzzing with well dressed people for dinner.

Location is beautiful, resort as a whole is beautiful. Front desk service is impeccable.
The rooms are clean, but poorly lit. The side table lights are integrated in the bed, but don’t work. There’s also a really weird & creepy sliding door in the room that enables you to slide open and look at whoever is showering. REALLY WEIRD.
The restaurant is WAY overpriced for what you get. $15 for a glass of very basic wine, $5.50 for a glass of soft drink.

great people but lacking the service of a resort at this price point.
There are other resorts out there with far better service at a lower price.
some of the topics, no shuttle into the city, no external delivery, restaurant service sucks and is expensive.
Unfortunately just didnt live up to the promises on the website.

Info on website not accurate. There is no spa in hotel. Also only skates and snowshoes available on site.
After we switch room from parking view to a lake view +80$. Room was smaller than original. So where is Spence in upgrade of the room? Also always trouble to get to restaurant for dinner.
Also in kids club no option to drop ur kids. Nobody watching them. So ….

A beautiful and ethereal location, very clean hotel with plenty of amenities. But the service was little bit slow (they said 15min but no one came with bathrobes after 1h of waiting, so I just canceled)

Enjoyed our stay. Room was newly renovated ground level. We had patio access to the central area and enjoyed a nice drink in the evenings watching out to sea. Place was busy but very quiet. We did try the restaurant. The location is handy and you are only minutes to the ferry. Would recommend a stay here.

    Travelling with my daughter.

Booked for a room with 2 queen beds with breakfast.

Was switched without notifications to a 1 queen size room & small ( very small) sofa bed with NO breakfast!!

Supposed to be New renovated rooms as per receptionist however Coffee machine didn’t work, fridge leaks , smell of carpet glue is really intense, shower doesn’t run properly
Location of this hotel is good though. Near everything, great spot

Very small rooms, especially for 4. The bathroom is pretty tiny as well, barely able to sit on the toilet at 6’2 195lbs. The location of this hotel is awesome, and the people are very friendly.
I feel like the quality of these rooms wouldn’t quite make it in another city.

Waterfront hotel with comfortable but dated rooms. Clean, great staff services. I do recommend updating the furniture.

Great Location..right on the water and close (2 minute drive) to the ferry. Also close to restaurants” etc. And centrally located to explore both sides of the islands. The room was clean and bed was comfortable..just didn’t have a comfortable easy chair or sofa. TV was at an angle to the bed…minor details. Staff was friendly and continental breakfast was adequate.
We didn’t eat in he hotel restaurant.

  1. We booked a condo for a weekend during low season and were upgraded to a lake view room without even asking for anything. This made our stay even more enjoyable while having access to the Auberge’s facilities. The main restaurant is a buffet but the dinner we had there was surprising in terms of food quality. Some of the meat we had was on par with some of the best restaurants we tried which is unexpected from a self-service buffet. The outdoor heated pool and spa open all year long made our stay very relaxing being able to enjoy them during cold weather.

  2. What an amazing long weekend at the Auberge du lac Taureau. We went for a girls weekend away, and it was THE exact place we needed. I will go into some details to explain why this was a fabulous experience, and why i will be going back.

    Arrival:
As soon as we arrived and we checked in, we were greeted by amazing staff. I believe her name was Lea (she had just started working there a few days prior) greeted us so warmly, explained to us everything we needed to know (location of restaurant/ buffet, pools/spa, our rooms….. everything we needed to know, So friendly staff at the receptions starts the weekend off right.

    Our rooms:
We had a room in the auberge. 2 beds one bathroom, just the right size. Even though the room was a bit small, it was just enough for what we needed (literally only to sleep)

    Food / Restaurants:
We arrived before dinner, so we went to the BISTRO for a quick bite to eat before dinner. I had ordered the salmon, however when it came to the table, it was charred on the outside, but cold and uncooked on the inside. The super nice waitress took it back without hesitation and got me another meal (i took the poutine which was delicious). This is literally the only negative part of my trip, and it was not too bad to be honest. We spent most of our time at the BISTO as it has nice comfortable couches, a nice fireplace and an amazing view. The drinks were nice too so it was the ideal place to relax, unwind, and enjoy our time there.

Now lets talk about the buffet. W…O…W!!!!! The food was absolutely AMAZING. So many choices, such good taste…. honestly we were pleasantly surprised. Dinner was amazing, breakfast was fantastic….. that’s all i can say. Staff there too were just wonderful and friendly

    Pools:
During our trip, we stuck to the outside spa (18 yr and over only). It was a bit small (as it was usually filled with alot of people) but it was great. There is an outdoor sauna also (that we did not use as we do not like sauna’s in general) but many people there used it. The outside pool and indoor pool we did not try either but saw many in it during out stay.

    Spa:
We booked 2 massage sessions as well as the chair treatment. The 2 massage therapists we had were amazing. Really did a great job. The neurospa chair (or bed in our case) was alright. It was relaxing, but it wasn’t as great as the massages we received.

    Activities:
As we came mainly to relax, we did not participate in any of the onsite activities. My friend went on a walk around the lot and she said it was beautiful. We saw that there were yoga sessions, fatbike rides and many other activities that could have been done during our stay.

    Wrap up:
All in all, it was a fantastic experience. I will be recommending this place to family and friend, and i will also be coming back forsure. Whether a girls weekend away, a family trip or even just a solo trip, this is a wonderful place to discover.

Thank you for the wonderful weekend!

  3. Stopped in for lunch while snowmobiling thru the area.
Very few options on the overpriced lunch menu.
    No children options at all.
Very poorly organized and slow service…
We placed our order and within a few minutes, 3 other servers came by to take our order.
Then 2 more came by and asked if we were done and ready for the bill.
I explained to all 5 that we were waiting for our food.
After about 45-50 min of waiting a manager came by and asked what we had ordered and said she would look into it.
Our original server came back and took our order again stating it had been lost…
Once we finally received our food the order was wrong…
When finally corrected the food was barely warm, the meat overcooked, overseasoned and dry.
It took over 90 min from placing our original order to receiving our food…
    We won’t be back.

  4. Nice rooms, loved the pool and the SPA but too expensive for the experience. 1000$ for one night with supper, breakfast included and one hour and a half at the SPA. The wine was extra. I had better experiences for that amount.

  5. Brought here as a guest on a business trip via snowmobiles. What an experience and great to settle into this cozy hotel with a lively bistro, plenty of entertainment, and a well rounded buffet. Their cheesecake with the Oreo/chocolate base was literally the most delicious dessert I had ever had in my life.
