As a part of Britania hotels, I was so shocked that this hotel deserves 5 stars. The hotel is nice and clean. Very nice, big rooms. Everything looked so good. You get the towels, kettle, tea, coffee, toiletries like shampoo, shower gel and hand cream. In the wardrobe you get extra pillows, hangers and even hair dryer.
We had an amazing sea view and visitors (seagulls). The only thing that I didn’t like was the fact that even though the heating was off, the heat in the room was so bad. I am more cold liking person and sleeping felt like hell, but I can’t complain as it was -1 outside.
Also the hotel has very small car park to the rear, but there is plenty of spaces around as well. Very nice and kind staff. Will be definitely coming back.By Sylwia Lysik (a month ago)Despite only average reviews mainly from what I saw this place is great reception area is great bar is gorgeous, our room was massive, and bathroom exquisite and huge, view looking out onto the sea.Rooms maybe weren’t up to Novotel, or jury’s inn, but the rooms were in a good state, and no qualms about coming back again, also £52 a night during the Easter holidays was amazing value.
Highly recommended
By Mark Woonton (a month ago)Let me start: it’s a dog friendly hotel, and it was amazing having our frenchie with us! The view was incredible from our room! Perfect, undisturbed sea view. The room itself was clean, warm, comfortable, fit for purpose and the staff were lovely. Car park at the back very safe. The balcony for us was a treat! There is nothing bad to say! We’ve stayed for 4 nights, and we wished we could off stay longer!!! Little fridge in the room, to keep your drink was a plus. Very close to the shops, city centre and restaurants. Absolutely perfect hotel. We’ll be back for sure.By Darren King (2 months ago)We stayed hear for one night I have to agree we booked a cheap room but my goodness it was dirty the lamp shade on a standard lamp not a ceiling lamp so easy to reach I’ve never seen a bed in dark brown stained yuk it must of come from the war it was vile we asked to up grade so we moved rooms one of there best apparently it was marginally better ripped curtains blood on bed. In both rooms we had no central heating all night it was – 4 out side the lift was not working and one other resident told us it had not been working for a while we did not stop for breakfast booked out as soon as we woke up disgusting !By Dave Wormington (4 months ago)First time visiting this large hotel with my holiday club. The entrance was well decorated and nice.
Unfortunately, on registration, there were two coach loads to get through as rooms were not ready and took ages. The receptionists tried their very best.
The main lift was out of order so, had to use old fashioned staff lift took too long and very tiring for the older people as well as disabled ones. The lift was still out of order by the end of our holiday.
The entertainment was really good, especially the Dj Matthew, the bar man was excellent, his customer service was second to none. He was attentive to us all.
The food could have been a lot better and more choices, eg, ice cream, fresh cream, larger croissants. The restaurant staff were really nice.
Overall, I enjoyed the company and with the other holiday members.
The lift needs to get sorted as a matter of priority. Too much waiting around.

The hotel is lovely but quite dated. Food is absolutely delicious and staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Beds were very comfortable with delightful pillows and soft bedding. We used the spa facilities, which also require a little TLC, especially the hot tub which jets didn’t work properly. The outdoor pool looks absolutely stunning with leafy surroundings but it was to cold to take a dive. Altogether a lovely and relaxing stay after a hike from Brighton to Eastbourne!By Ola (7 months ago)It’s a nice hotel. Staff are friendly and overall we had a nice stay. Lots of nice armchairs to sit around in and there’s a very relaxed atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast is fine. Enjoyable but not memorable and would give it a 3/5. The bar is nice and the staff were friendly there too. The room was nice but it would be good to have a fridge. I don’t understand how it has 5 stars but the room rate was reflective of the stay I think. We got a winter deal which made it reasonable overall. £16 for a cocktail was a lot higher than London prices. The pool area needs some renovation too. I cut myself on a ragged tile in the pool itself.
I’m giving it a 4 because overall it was a lovely stay.
By Fiona Dennehy (a month ago)Cannot rate rooms as we were there for afternoon tea. The location is amazing, the lounges, restaurant and other seating areas are gorgeous, spacious and well maintained. The staff were fantastic. Very presentable, polite, Friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Afternoon tea was gorgeous. A nice selection of high quality food that was well presented. Felt very relaxed, never rushed, but staff were always on hand to refresh drinks and tidy. It was a treat afternoon that has certainly made us want to go again and look at staying and making the most of other services available. The small shops on site had some great items on display that were very reasonable in price. Staff again happy to help get anything for you to try. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit.By Piers Lewis (5 months ago)Had afternoon tea for a birthday celebration and it was lovely. Amazing service and beautiful surroundings. Some would say dated, but I’d like to call the hotel interiors faded grandeur!
Beautiful cakes and sandwiches and glass of bubbly, just shy of £50 per person, inclusive of service charge.
Worth it!By Heidi Carlsen (6 months ago)Lovely location. Lounge was excellent with nice view. Food was okay. Unfortunately, I had the Grand burger and French Fries. The burger was heavily spiced and undercooked and the fries very heavily salted. Not the best and not as you would expect at a hotel of this standard. The soup was excellent and the afternoon tea was fine. So meal wise a bit hit and miss.By Tony Rogers (4 months ago)

Stayed on night in the two bed suite with family in November. Great location, walking distance from town, pubs, shops and the pier. Parking isn’t free, but was easily able to find a space opposite at this time of year, with a day permit £2 from reception. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and great with the kids. Disabled access throughout. Place was clean and modern. The room was very clean and well maintained. Lots of space for 4 adults and 2 children. Beds were comfortable and the shower powerful. Huge bath too. Down side to the room was 1. No usb charging points, just sockets 2. Whilst a kettle was provided with tea etc. the coffee was only instant and it would have been nice to have a proper machine. The views from the balcony were wonderful, despite the wind and rain, with chairs provided for when the weather is better. The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked with a good selection.
Stayed two nights here, our room was clean and cosy, we had a sea view. On arriving for breakfast we were greeted and welcomed by a lovely lady. The hotel was decorated for Christmas and a huge amount of effort was made. Breakfast was nice, help yourself with plenty of variety. We would definitely stay again.
Well done to all the staff and have a very happy Christmas.
We stayed with family for New Years eve dinner, disco and overnight . This is the second time we have stayed here and I can only say everything was superb. The function room was laid out beautifully , the carvery meal was incredible as was the disco. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had all the facilities we could possibly need. What really made it was the friendly helpful staff.
Thank you all for making our New Years eve so memorable. We have already booked to return to this hotel in March for a family birthday.
A great hotel in a fantastic location. View from the room was great and the spacious room was welcomed. Very clean.
Slightly higher price point than I’d expect for a mid-week rate which in turn resulted in a higher level of scrutiny and as a result, I wouldn’t give 5 stars for the room (bathroom could do with an upgrade and website photos showed a TV in the bath that is no longer there and a wood panel covering instead so slightly misleading).
But highly recommended!!
If you are parking outside the hotel – pay for parking IN the hotel – its £2.00 for 24hrs – much more expensive using the pay and display machine…
Ideal place, right on the seafront and near the high street, near the pier, close to everything that we can possibly find to do in one weekend!! Had a nice few days with just mum and me!! The room is Spacey but not to big, the bathroom is a good size!! Sea views outside on the balcony!! Overall a good stay!!
