Most stunning view I have ever had from a hotel room and from the restaurant/infinity pool area. The hotel room was large, clean, air-con worked and had a hot shower, which we often didn’t find travelling around Mexico. It was lovely to fall asleep to the waves crashing on the beach. Plus at a moderate price. I would seriously find it hard to believe that there is anywhere better to stay in Mazunte!
Great location with a 5mins walk down the steps to the best part of the beach. Short walk down to the Main Street where the bakery, restaurants, shops and ATMs are.
It was also close to the top 2 attractions in Mazunte:
1. Punta Cometa (15mins Walk to a point with beautiful views. Everyone goes to watch the sunset. If you are daring, go earlier, 4pm and you can climb down to the rock pool and have a swim)
2. Laguna Ventanilla (15mins Drive/50mins walk from Mazunte) – In terms of the lagoon tour there are two companies. * Lagarto Real (RED SHIRTS, located at the end of the road closest to the beach) 120 pesos per person. The tour was in Spanish which we didn’t understand, but we enjoyed it very much anyway * Servicios Ecoturisticos La Ventanilla (WHITE SHIRTS) REVIEWS WOULD SUGGEST THEY ARE A BIT DODGYLeonard our hotel manager at Altamira was super helpful. Providing us a room with an awesome view as requested. He also helped to book our flight to Oaxaca via Aerotucan as we don’t speak/read Spanish. To top it off, he also gave great advice on where to go to eat;
Food & Drink (Ticks are the ones we tried)
Smoothies
– El Tiburón ✅ Tropical Bowl was our favourite.
Lunch
– La negra ✅ Chill place to sit and view the beach. Has the best shrimp tacos, guacamole and aqua de melon.
– TertuliaDinner 6pm
– La tribu
– Fish and love ✅ Tasty shrimp dinnerDinner neighbouring town – El navegante
Cons – The hotel was getting renovated after storm damage but to be honest the repairs didn’t affect our stay at all. There are some mosquitoes but if you use the air-con in the room they stay away.
By Catherine Smith (4 months ago)Love the view. Looked like our room was recently remodeled. Very comfortable hammock on the balcony. Very good price. Some of the information on the website is not accurate. We rented a specific room because it said it had a view (website said no A/C which was OK with us). The confirmation email said it did not. We emailed a couple time to confirm the view and they never answered. When we got there our room did not have a view. They moved us from our 2 bed room to one with a king bed and the VIEW for the same price (and it did have A/C — maybe due to a remodel).
We had emailed to ask for the best way to get there from the airport and they did not answer that either.
Helpful to know Spanish as they do not speak English — except the guy they sent to get our safe open.
Google maps does not show a road to the place so the taxi driver could not find the place. We had to give him their number to get directions.
I would stay there again. But maybe have someone send my emails in Spanish.
By Bob Schatz (a year ago)We were very disappointed about the cabana. It is super outdated/old and extremely hot, it also wasn’t clean on arrival. Not all windows have curtains, and it was very easy to get into the cabana without a key and despite that there was no locker or anything to safe valuables. Didn’t feel safe! The staff (only a few people working here, they need more) didn’t really make you feel welcome, there’s a lack of personal contact. There is WiFi only at the restaurant, not at the rooms. And last but not least: we booked this because it has a restaurant/bar, but that closes in the early afternoon. you’re not able to have a drink or snack at the pool and also can’t use a fridge for your own stuff. This place really needs some more attention and improvement of cabanas, because it could be so much better with the beautiful location and garden!By Sarin M (12 months ago)Shameless.
The most stunning views with a gorgeous restaurant area overlooking the infinity pool and the bay downhill. We came to see the place before we booked it as we have gotten burned a few times during this vacation. They offered us two rooms, one at $1600 MXN without the ocean view, and $2,200 MXN with the view. Both rooms STANK of musty dirty bathroom. I honestly was insulted by how these foul smelling rooms were offered to us at that price with an absolutely straight face. We did not stay here to say the least.By Layla Shbat (11 months ago)What a great place! The view over the ocean is absolutely stunning! Rooms are ok, nothing fancy. But who cares, way more fun to walk down the stairs and go to the beachBy anna (a year ago)

Such a nice place, directly on the beach. Friendly and fast service. The crew is very helpful and interested in giving their guests a great experience. Fantastic food and drinks. Thank you guys!
(Some people wrote, they calculate extra taxes in the end. But not in our case – if you pay with credit-card, of course you have to pay the credit-card-service-fee)By ben pehl (a month ago)thanks a lot to the team, friendly, discret and attentive.
we had a problem with our booking and they all joined energy to help us to solve everything.
the fruit salad is the biggest and nicest I had on the beach and my boyfriend wich is tricky with coffee would recommand it 😉
valeria and adrianBy Adrian Weideli (5 months ago)Calm, peaceful location, amazing beach.
Most guests are couples, not a solo traveller place for sure. I thought sinks made out of buckets looked a bid weird n random in a fancy place.By Alice Jones (a year ago)Real seafront cabanas. Falling alseep with the sound of the big Pacific ocean waves is great. So is the staff: 3 great guys. Nothing too fancy but all you can ask for.By Nick vd B (a year ago)Only reviewing place for breakfast.
On the Beach.
Good strong coffee ( but the Espresso was a tad bitter for my taste). The juices are first class. Breakfasts mains are all delicious. Went here three times over several days. Consistent great quality. Breakfasts here are much better than the near by competition.By Grant Seifred (5 years ago)

There’s a really cool vibe at this place!
In addition to the professional staff and clean and comfortable furniture, there’s also a pretty awesome dj (was playing some funky beats while I was there that were perfect for the atmosphere) and a live salsa/kumbia band on some days. They did take all of my money after I tasted the first (of many) “mezcalitos”… cuidado! they’re F— good!!
Amazing beach view and 5 star service all the way around from when we checked in to checked out. Can’t wait to rebook. Thank you Christian and Team for all your help 🥳
The staff was extremely friendly and really tried their best to accomodate for the things we needed. It is appreciated
We have been to Hotel Nude’s bar/restaurant many times. The food is consistently good, beer is cold, drinks are good and staff is friendly – especially Yadi!
We had dinner at the restaurant and it was absolutely amazing!! The service was great, the staff was super kind and the food and drinks came out very quickly. We ordered strawberry mango cocktail and ribs, everything was incredibly delicious! I highly recommend and I will be back soon!
Oh they also had a beautiful set up by the beach with candles lit and LED lights, it was so beautiful and romantic ❤️
